Aside from the fact that it is in and of itself morally repugnant to take a damn honeymoon to the worst hostile foreign power America has ever faced, this is a bad look, even for a dem primary:

It would be very hypocritical of dems, who have made russia a huge issue since 2017, nominate a man who openly extolled russia and cozied up with its leaders back when it was way worse.

The country has an extraordinary history and culture. 1988 was right before the wall came down. It was a time of openness in Soviet Russia, before the mafia took over.
