My theory is that lower income white folk partially, or wholly, believe their lower financially status is due to black folk much like lower income black folk blame the whites for repression. The Confederate flag, in most instances, is a symbol like the African fist. Most don’t know what the true meaning behind either are.

Truth is, the world is what you make it. Want to get out of the trailer park or the hood, then put in on youself and do it. Don’t sit around and poor mouth or regale in what coulda/shoulda been or blame someone else for your situation

If we are being honest states didn't start adding it to state flags during 50s

Most people on either side loose site of this.
Georgia added confederate flag in 1956. SC added it to state house in 1961. Both of these should have been changed/taken down.
Mississippi adopted flag in 1894. They should keep it. It fits state history more than changing the flag during the height of civil rights.

Yep. It's not that hard to not be poor in the US despite what people say.

Because upper class white people have shite to lose when snowflakes do their thing.

And good on you taking a full, fair look at what people actually do as they associate with it.

I think many of the posters of the OT have nailed it. Low-income people look to place the blame somewhere. Most of the people who fly the Confederate flag call themselves patriots and proud Americans, yet they are too ignorant to realize the flag represents a conflict of interest, since it also represents a rebellion against the country they "love." I think it's more of a mindset than it is an affiliation. Those who fly the flag pride themselves on not taking shite from anybody. That mindset usually leads them into the unemployment line, hence their Low-income status.

Has no place on public grounds like courthouses though.

Does that include if it’s in the state flag?

Rich southerners are proud of their own accomplishments. For poor southerners they have no accomplishments of their own do their only sense of pride stems from being on the losing side of a war that happened 150 years ago.

They call it pride but really they are still salty about the arse whuppin' their ancestors got and carry around a chip on their shoulder to this day.

A lot of truth to this

Similarly, this is why some Alabama fans shoot each other for not being upset enough when Alabama loses

I think it’s one of several things;

1) education and income usually follow each other. Education usually increases understanding and removes ignorant biases about people unlike ones self
2) social and political standing. Even if you do have certain views that are contrarian, you have more to lose than to gain by wearing it on your sleeve
3) just overall better tact and understanding of what societal norms are.

What do you mean how so???... if you can't understand why you even more ridiculous... stop playing dumb you know better than that... I'm aware everyone who displays it isn't racist (I guess)... but it's what it stood for at one time I'll never be ok with it... you shouldn't either... it's like a Jew sitting with people who proudly display a nazi flag...
