i guess i just find it interesting how people are saying the show has become so predictable didn't predict the arya scene from last night.
Largely because there were shitloads of prophesies and foreshadowing that either Jon or Dany kills him. I never remotely considered anyone else would kill him.

Qyborn will invent a better way to handle the dragons, I predict.

Episode 4 will be the start of Dany's descent into madness. Arya had to kill the NK to help prevent the inevitable feminist backlash when Jon takes Dany's throne.
God I hope Dany becomes the petty woman we all know she really is.
Sadly, the rest of your statement is actually intelligent.

What on this show or in the books ever lead you lunatics to believe that Cersei would outright win?
I don't believe she'll win but I am saying she should.
She's the only one who's handled things intelligently and strategically.
She actually deserves the throne.

They did set Cersei up to win the throne
As of right now yes but in the last 3 episodes there is still time for someone to step in and help the North. I will be shocked if they don't receive some form of military help from someone to make it more manageable.
Remember nearly every battle has had some unexpected outlier 'help' in the victory.
Blackwater had the 'wild fire' and then Tywin show up at the last minute to hold off Stannis.
BotB had the Knights of the Vale show up.
Ramsey had the 'weather' help him and bog down Stannis Army.
etc.

Quick roll-call for the opposing forces:
Cersei- Golden company, some remnants of the Lannister army, Euron's Greyjoy forces. Any more?
Team Targarian: 2 dragons, remnants of the Unsullied, remnants of the Northern armies, a scattered few Dothraki maybe; then- the Lannister troops that bent the knee? They didn't ride North, but they did pledge to her. And with Jaime now available to lead them, most likely will honor that pledge.
Add to that the remnants of the Tyrell army, they weren't executed in masse by Jaime. They surrendered and went home. They should answer the call. As well as any remnants of the Tully forces.
Yara's Greyjoys, this is somewhat limited, but she did seem to have enough to retake the Iron Islands, so maybe a couple hundred or so.
Wildcards for this side: Dorne theoretically should still have troops near full strength, if you could ever organize them. And Second Sons, if called upon. Someone in a thread said that could cause problems in Meereen, but I don't think Daario would hesitate in the choice between Dany's call and Meereen's needs.
Anyone else?
Hard to give either side the edge.
Cersei is entrenched at King's Landing, and seems to have more troops now. But the Golden Company is toast if caught in the open by the dragons, so you can't deploy. And God help Euron's fleet if they get caught in harbor. Cersei has Scorpions to counter the dragons, but Drogon knows what's up, and he's dodged 2 NK missiles. I think with riders who are watching out, you don't shoot them down.
Similarly, Dany no longer has the troop strength to confidently lay siege and take KL without major airstrikes, something they did want to avoid.

What? No of course not. The fans would be outraged and the story would make no sense. It would be pure shock value
It would make absolute perfect sense for Cersei to win the throne. She's the only one ruthless, cunning, patient and smart enough to do it.
This isn't the sort of story that should have a happy ending but the ending should make sense.
Cersei on the throne makes sense but worry not. It won't happen.
The fans will get what they want. A conventional "dawn of a new day" ending. Just like every ending you've seen a thousand times before. Nothing original.

I have never bought that Qyburn doesn't have some other motive/loyalties and won't turn on Cersei.

I don't think a siege is possible at this point for the North even if they do have the 2nd sons and/or the remaining Knights of the Vale show up. Cersei would be stupid to leave her fortifications and send the Golden Company out in the open field. Will be interesting to see how they do this. The dragons are huge advantage but it isn't like Cerssi isn't prepared for them. I also don't think Dany will care about "the people" anymore and will try to just scorch the whole place unless Tyrion or Jamie can stop her.

The dornish will show up. They will have elephants since Cersei already "foreshadowed" how powerful they are.
Bran probably worged ravens all across the globe to rally support for the upcoming War.

Would be awesome as I don't think Dorne ever got its proper due on the show. They screwed that up so bad.

Cersei’s plan from the end of season 7 was perfect Cersei. IMO this is Tyrion’s chance to prove he’s smarter than his sister. He’s had a rough go of it, but now he’s gonna come out and surprise everyone by showing he’s still got it.
First thing he does is send Davos back to the Iron Bank. They get money. Then they use that money to buy the Golden Company out of Cersei’s pocket. The new forces of the Golden Company, the remaining north forces, and the Vail will siege KL, with the dragons in the sky and the Iron Fleet attacking Euron’s fleet. Yara kills Euron. Davos and Gendry get our favorite characters to sneak into KL

Wait, who was Arya kissing on the preview for episode 4? That wasn’t Gendry, looked like Euron?

The four main characters in the books and based on commentary from GRRM have always been,
-Jon
-Dany
-Arya
-Tyrion
Arya had her moment. Tyrion is going to do something crazy that will definitely be family related and involve Cersie and Jaime and probably change the narrative. I ultimately believe Jon and Dany will go at it with Dany being the final villain. No way the show is going to end with Cersie and Euron being the last obstacle.

Maybe.
My hope though is Tyrion's self esteem issues come shining through and he ends up seeking Cersei's respect and approval.
Also, Tyrion made it clear to tywin after black bay that what he really wants is casterly rock. My hope is he sells out Jon and Dany to garner these things.
But none of that will happen. It would be too enjoyable.

How can you tell? I can't tell from the back of their head in the half second.

quote:Hard to make out, but Rhaegon I think won that dragon fight, he fricked up Viserion's jaw (which is why we saw all the blue fire coming out of his cheeks). But took a pretty good beating in the process. He didn't go splat, he kinda crashlanded.quote:
keep seeing posts that there are 2 dragons left. I thought the dragon that Jon was riding was killed leaving only Drogon.
I thought the dragon that was trying to kill Jon in the end was the reincarnated dragon that Jon was riding.
Can someone clear this up for me.
The dragon that was trying to kill Jon was the Night King's dragon, Viserion.
I'm guessing Rhaegal survived in the background because the preview for Episode 4 shows 2 dragons
Of note, those dragons are tanks now. Neither Rhaegon on the ground, nor Drogon covered in wights, suffered fatal wounds from the human dead. It was definitely like being stung by wasps or whatever- painful and annoying, but not lethal.

I paused it and it looked like Euron with the sideburns

Big shocker, Ramsey wasn’t eaten alive by his hounds, but just pretended to be eaten, and winds up sitting on the throne.
