To me that wasn't really going to be a problem. So many people have died that there has to be a bunch of land that nobody owns anymore. Their problem, hypothetically, was going to be how long before they go back to their culture and ways. They weren't exactly the type of people that got along with anyone else.

Is it true that the Vake Army wasnt there? If so why? Granted it's great if they weren't there, but did they intentionally leave out a fighting force for the Battle of Winterfell.

There were a bunch of them standing behind Brienne and Jamie.

And Jon will end up being the king of all 7 kingdoms. The show is still about him, it’s just not about him killing the night king but about being the ruler of the entire realm
Or he helps establish a Constitutional Republic and becomes the George Washington of the United States or Westeros as a result democratic election and decisive victory via the Electoral College vote.

I'd guess the North has fewer than 3K from those at the BoW left combined. BUT there are still likely some allies who were south of Winterfell who could join them against Cersei. Also, not sure if they'd still join them but I'm fairly sure Dorne's army is still intact. There's also Daario who could amass some kind of force but how to get them from Essos (and in time) would become the question.

Seems like we are headed to a BotB Part 2 where Jon and Davos go and round up a rag tag army to march South and then some outside force comes in to save the day. Would be extremely lazy if they do this again. Which is why it makes more sense for there to be mutiny in King's Landing with either the Lannister Army or the Golden Company greatly reducing Cersei's numbers and military strength.

Jamie has one hand. He is useless in reality. He is a figurehead for House Lannister. He has a redemption arc on the show that isn't complete. That is why he is still with us. In reality he would have been killed in battle long ago. I don't think Jamie is going to switch sides but wouldn't care if he did. He is useless as a warrior.

Where was Varys during the battle?
Did Tyrion send him away on a “diplomatic” mission to enlist help post battle?

In the Crypts with all the women and children.

Seems like the show has neutered Varys spying ability just like they have Tyrion's intelligence. Varys hasn't provided anything of note in ages. I at least hope we get to hear what the voice said in the flames. Mellisandre has told him he is to die in Westeros just like she was going to......

In past seasons there were many subplots and different characters were put into different, complex roles and their stories developed over time.

Last year the show went into warp speed and there wasn’t time for all the subplots.

It’s been a rush to the finish line.

He’s disconnected from his spy network in Kinglanding.

Qyburn runs that shite now.

Last season he got Dorne and Hightower on board.

And it was a miserable failure. About like everything Tyrion has tried to do. Both characters have lost the ability to do what they do best. Poor writing.

IMO, the Golden Company army will either rebel against Cersei or were a plant from the start and I can’t help but think Daario will involved in that. He was too big a character for too long to just be dropped forever.

But Daario was with a different Mercenary a group.

Idk. I still Don’t know what the Golden Company is gonna do vs dragons.

However, Cersei seems confident which isn’t a good sign in the ahow

No that was a success

Losing them was a failure. But that’s not on Varys

Cersei made it clear in the first episode she has "a plan" for dany.

Dany's only plan is to act like a petulant, entitled child and demand everyone "bend the knee".

Not a Danny fan.

Her only leadership qualities are having dragons and being fireproof.

Cersei isn’t much better. She has the Mountain and Wyldfire. She started on third and acts like she hit a triple

I am assuming the when Bran warged into a raven, he was going to recon the incoming fleet and will probably tell everyone what's coming. I'm sure the episode will be the aftermath of the battle and the preparation for the incoming.

Taking out the most powerful house in the Reach offscreen with seemingly little effort and the entire Dorne plot being axed are definitely in the top 10 for worse sins this show has committed.
