Cheaper to get a new license plate

Move out of the shithole known as New Orleans, LA.

I got one for 24 in a 20 Mardi Gras week when schools were closed. But... NOLA will never see a penny of that fine.

You need to call Scoot at WWL and tell him your story.
He loves New Orleans.

Makes a campaign promise to remove the cameras. Gets in office and not only does she not remove them but she secretly tightens the tolerances. That is about as NO/La politics as you can get
In all fairness, she did make many of the cameras for speeding at major intersection inoperable, but then did the lowering of the "grace speed" on many of the cameras.
To do this without informing the public is a pretty shitty thing to do and looks like what it is-----just another cash grab.

I believe manufacturers are allowed to let cars roll off of the lot with a 5% speedometer calibration. So, they can be going 21, and the speedo will read 20. It's not hard for people to miss the difference between 20 (really 21) and 21 (really 22.05)

Lol. The old my speedometer isn’t calibrated excuse. Good luck trying that one. If you can’t tell you’re traveling 24 instead of 20 then you may have vertigo.
I guess it’s more a precision than calibration issue. The dial on my speedometer is about 1/3 the width of the 5 mph increment spacing. Also, unless I’m doing nothing but focusing on the speedometer it’s almost impossible to keep my speed fluctuation less than 1-2 mph absent cruise control.
I suppose I will shoot for going 15 on these stretches heretofore, to account for these issues. I can only hope all you frickers deriding me end up behind me.

They can’t boot you if your license plate gets stolen and you have to pay $25 for another.

My guess is it’s only a matter of time until there’s a lawsuit around the new “adjustments” Latoya called for. I got one in the mail last week for my wife going 24/20. Definitely getting to the point where speedometer accuracy/calibration can be called into question.
Mayor said that the city attorneys would not let her drop the "cushion" below 4 due to calibration concerns.

So they can boot me?
The mayor signed off on a city council ordinance in November that states that they can't boot your car unless you have 3 outstanding tickets.

But its all about public safety, as they lower the threshold for speed cameras without informing the public.
Here's what I do in this situation. Ignore the ticket. When you get the third notice, go to an auto notary and get a new license plate. They only boot you based off your license plate. New plate = no boot.
frick New Orleans.

There’s a few stretches around here I’ve learned to set to cruise on. It’s hard to do in a two block school zone.
I know the past few cars I've had, the cruise wouldn't work at 20 mph either. I think you had to be going at least 25-30 for cruise control to work.

And to those changing tire sizes from OEM specifications, you speedo will read differently since they are not calibrated for changing to larger, or smaller tires but for the ones that come with the vehicle.

School zone, supposed to be under 20.
But camera ticket, no need to pay

exactly, "getting" to the point, accuracy is +/- 10% which makes 24mph in a 20mph a legit ticket
dont speed in a school zone... and pls enjoy wasting your time in court trying to contest it

What’s the best way to destroy and dispose of a license plate?

Stop speeding in a school zone
Every other school zone in the country ends at 3:30PM.
NOLA parents should consider themselves so blessed that their children want to stay at school an extra hour to work hard and study. I have no problem with a 4:30PM school zone for those kids!!
