Stop speeding in a school zone
Posted on 4/26/19 at 8:14 am to Y.A. Tittle
Was it in a school zone?
Story has been well publicized in the local news for the past few weeks that the mayor tried to pull a fast one on everybody and had the speed camera trigger in school zones lowered from 5 or 6 MPH over the limit down to 2 MPH over in February without telling anyone. Nobody knew she had done that until people started getting 3-4 MPH over tickets in the mail in March and April.

My guess is it’s only a matter of time until there’s a lawsuit around the new “adjustments” Latoya called for. I got one in the mail last week for my wife going 24/20. Definitely getting to the point where speedometer accuracy/calibration can be called into question.

How precise is your speedometer? Your foot?
There’s a few stretches around here I’ve learned to set to cruise on. It’s hard to do in a two block school zone.

She got to make up for the $100 million the S&WB hasn’t collected on people’s water bills.

Makes a campaign promise to remove the cameras. Gets in office and not only does she not remove them but she secretly tightens the tolerances.
That is about as NO/La politics as you can get

Dude, at 20mph, if your speedo is off even one mph, that’s generous. As you increase speed it may be further off but vehicle speedo calibrations are pretty damn close now.
Parting thought - go 20 in a school zone as posted.

A speedometer is calibrated to read correctly with new tires of a certain circumference. As the tires wear, they get smaller by several inches. This changes the accuracy by about 2% which makes the speedometer show a higher speed that actual.

Lol. The old my speedometer isn’t calibrated excuse. Good luck trying that one. If you can’t tell you’re traveling 24 instead of 20 then you may have vertigo.
