You aren’t a comic book fan, half the fun is the discussion. Go back and be a casual.

Did anyone else find the “Avengers assemble” a little underwhelming?

We waited all those years for Cap to finally say that line and he almost whispers it.

I mean, but what happens to the Tesseract, or shite, how do they reform the Tesseract?

I'm guessing the Reality Stone would allow Steve to make it back into the Tesseract? Or maybe they had a spare glowing box just sitting around? It was SHIELD, after all.

So this is the end of the Original 6 as we know them, right?
Iron Man- dead
Captain America- elderly man
Black Widow- dead
Hawkeye- retired to family
Hulk- now with Bruce's intellect, just a scientist?
Thor- off with the Guardians

Pretty much. I think Bruce's attitude and the Gauntlet injury (coupled with his own movies' lower sales) have sidelines him pretty much to the same extent as the others (no idea on the actor's contractual obligations though and that's the overriding factor).

Hemsworth is contracted for another movie and people were speculating Thor 4 but his finale may well end up being GotG 3.

i wonder if they are going to get Adam Warlock to bring back the stones/Vision in GotG 3.

Isn’t there supposed to be a Witch/Vision show on Disney+.

The bitching in this thread is incredible. Was it perfect? No. Were there plotholes? Yes - there ALWAYS are with time travel movies. Did the Russos successfully keep all the balls in the air and make an entertaining movie that was in keeping with the 21 that preceded it and did service to the characters? Absolutely. The movie was "slow" in the beginning out of necessity. You got the "action" that you could have based on the situation (1st attack on Thanos). Once the stones were gone, there was nothing else that could be done to achieve the desired outcome - reversing the snap. So, you jump ahead and the opportunity is there now with Scott/Pym particle and Tony. It took 20 films for the MCU to collect (and for Thanos to get) the stones - yes Thanos essentially collects them in about 24-36 hours in IW. The Avengers did it in one movie, and technically in only a few hours once they undertake the effort, having the advantage of knowing what they were and where/when they were.

So we invest 21 movies over 10 plus years and get a rushed, lazy movie. They should have made the IW a trilogy then to get it right. This is such a disappointment by MCU. Yes it was a good movie, but nothing special.

We get a rat accidentally stepping on a button to put in motion a plan to reverse a snap 21 movies in the making yet then we get multiple snaps in one movie. That plan put in motion is only dependent on Tony Stark dictating his terms..?

Time travel w/ consequences vs multiple universes w/ no consequences

We get an hour and half montage of previous movies that created plot holes that are only being defended by fan boys. Speaking of the montage, there were better places to get the stones in the same timeframe but they choose the most difficult. Could they have not got the Tesseract and time stone a few days earlier before the battle in NYC (Tesseract was basically undefended at the hanger a few days earlier). What about going to the Collector? Already mentioned but Gamaro and Rocket knowingly sending someone to their death for the soul stone? There are others, but all the seeking of the stones was meant to do was be a MCU walk down memory lane.

Thor was funny but him never getting his act together was a disgrace to the character especially considering what he became in Ragnarok and then went through in IW..

I thought it was really nice of all the women to give the guys a water break during the big fight.

I could go on but much have it has already been said in this thread. We got a average MCU movie as a conclusion to IW and phase one. Anyone that thinks the five years will be explained or that thinks some questions will be answered moving forward are delusional. Bottom line is I expected much more and would have settled for more then I got.

Incredible movie. I’d give it 9.5 out of 10

Too much to list what I liked so here’s what I hated:

1. Captain Marvel. They could have done the whole thing without her. Her standalone was pointless to the story. They should have waited and done hers with stage 4. She’s a terrible actress

2. Thor. Completely destroyed his character.. IW he was the character all his previous films led to. He was a cartoon character in this one

It really did strick me as odd how Thor was built up all the way through IW only to collapse here and flat out give up his crown.

Probably a better way to continue using the character, not much to be done with him ruling new Asgard

I didn’t like him being fat Thor but since it wasn’t his finale it’s fine I guess

It makes no sense. Tony, Cap, even Hulk...they all had arcs. Thor's was really starting to come in to view at the end of Infinity War, and was perhaps more clearly defined than any other character's. And then it just went off a cliff in this film.

He got the Luke Skywalker treatment.

They had to do something to Thor to nerf him from the end of IW. He was too powerful for Thanos without some kind of nerf.
