The only thing I can see it was a (messy) way to separate his story from the rest and continue his arc without involving the full ensemble cast

So we invest 21 movies over 10 plus years and get a rushed, incompetent movie
What? That movie wasnt rushed in the least bit.

They should have made the IW a trilogy then to get it right.

It makes no sense. Tony, Cap, even Hulk...they all had arcs. Thor's was really starting to come in to view at the end of Infinity War, and was perhaps more clearly defined than any other character's. And then it just went off a cliff in this film.
He got the Luke Skywalker treatment.
He’s viewing himself as a failure as the leader of Asgard, under his rule he lost his planet more than half his people to thanos and than the another half after the snap. He’s only hope was retrieving the gauntlet and snapping them back, than when the opportunity presents itself thanos has destroyed the only thing that can bring his people back. So he loses his head off and goes into a depression, not that surprising. Than talk with his mom he realized his self pity was a joke and becomes Thor again.

Maybe incompetent was harsh and clearly hurt some feelings, so I edited to ‘lazy’ which is the perfect word.

It is truly amazing the things that get ridiculed on this board yet the MCU is untouchable.

you can complain all you want about how they treated time travel in this movie. but i have zero problem with how they have treated thor and saying he got the skywalker treatment is a huge over exaggeration

Disagree with killing Tony, while his death was great, he kind of earned his happy ending. Cap ended up getting to live more of a life than Tony.

I like these movies for the most part but the monotony of the fight scenes gets to me towards the end.
Its the same shite with everyone fighting at the end.

I like the parallels drawn between Tony and Thanos in these two movies, with both getting to finally "rest" in the end.

Are you freaking kidding me? Some of you people are sad. This movie was an incredible comic book film that did its job.

I think Pepper knew that Tony was on a self-destruct course since day one. He cheated death more than anyone, and made it all the way to the point where his death meant saving the universe.
I'm done with comic-relief Thor. It was good for a while, but shite, this is Thor. Just because they couldn't get him right in two movies doesn't mean that you can't have a good, serious Thor film.
If he still had Mjonir I'd want him to face off with Beta Ray Bill.

Also did anyone else notice that the fantasy football guy Matt Berry was a SHIELD/HYDRA agent standing next to Robert Redford?

I’m fine with that Thor. He provides comedy when needed and is serious when needed. It really allows Hemsworth to give the character range.

Am I the only one who thinks Tony’s death could have been avoided/reversed?
He had all the stones - teleport away, come up with a plan to contain the radiation from the reversal snap. Thanos was pretty much neutered at that point.
OR
The rest of the Avengers still had all six stones once the battle was over. Aside from Black Widow and Gamora (bc soul stone sacrifice) it seems like they could have easily resurrected anyone they wanted, especially Tony.

I'm happy with the way he died. It was perfect for his character arc!

kind of interested how they are going to bring natasha back for the black widow movie
Posted on 4/26/19 at 4:31 pm to ForeverEllisHugh
I thought about that but Thanos’ army wasn’t just going to say frick it and leave. Thanos himself said it was now personal so at the very least he spared more casualties by doing that
