What do you guys do when at a bar when doing the low carb or Keto diets? Obviously no beer just wondering what types of bourbon or whiskey I can do with water as to be if minimal disruption to my diet

vodka and club soda with lime is the cleanest drink i know.
not clean, but still the lowest calorie.

Straight liquor has no carbs, but you have to keep in mind that the body will burn off alcohol first, storing all fat & carbs eaten in the meantime. Also keep in mind that alcohol is very calorie dense at 7cal/gram

Vodka's, scotch, bourbons, whiskeys. Dry white and dry red wines. I mentioned in another thread, 2-3 Michelob Ultras or miller lites wont be terrible. There are some other low/zero carb beers, but not many in America.
I'm pretty versed in bourbons, whiskeys, and red wine. I've dabbled in white wine and scotch. I've tip toed in vodkas.
Don't worry about the calorie nonsense. Bill has a good write up on it on his calories proper website. In this context with low sugar, you are fine. Not to say that no
other health risks that may come up. And your body will hate you if you drink too much
Here is the study he used. You may need to use to internet magic to read it though.
r/ketodrunk is an actual subreddit for this exact question.

I enjoy a white tequila, soda, lime; very refreshing
Any alcohol in my systems stalls weight loss though.

I really don't worry about it. If I'm drinking often enough to derail my diet, I'm drinking too often.
One limiting factor is tolerance - If I've been super low carb/Keto for more than a few weeks, I can't really handle more than 2-3 drinks without feeling like shite.

The drinking isnt the problem
it's needing a greasy burger, fries, or pizza for the hangover the next day

I like gin, so Bombay on the rocks with two olives.
Also if taking shots, just tequila.
People do the club soda thing, but that shite taste nasty to me.

Combine the facts that I don’t drink like I did in college with really changing the way I eat, my tolerance level is absolute shite. I LOVE beer. My favorite is a pitch black porter or a smoky bourbon infused beer. However, they are really high in calories and alcohol content (for a beer), so they don’t help me reach my fitness/health goals. That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy them. I try to enjoy only 2 or 3 drinks per week, typically on Saturday evening after eating only a light meal until my dinner (cheat meal). You can enjoy alcohol, you just have to set limits.
