So I just finished this up. I loved it. I get how some people found it too cheesy, but I think it fits with the image of the band. The biggest problem with the production is that at least a couple of the actors were not very good. They were mostly OK but in the few serious scenes they (the actors) got exposed.
What I really liked about the film was showing how each guy had a very distinctive personality.

I though it was ok. The bad acting and overall production made it seem a little thrown together, but the overall story was entertaining.

This movie, much like the Crue, was okay-ish. The book was really good and their stories are so over the top that I think it could’ve been treated better.
This needs a re-do. Throw everyone out except for David Costabile as Doc.

Truth be told, the best actor/actress in the entire film was the little girl who played Skylar

I've only watched the first 15 minutes or so but the narration is awful and sounds like it was recorded in a room that wasn't sound proofed.

Ah you’re right. They wrote about it in their book though so I guess I got it twisted.

Fair enough.
Groupies, not Roadies. He said he respected the other sex unlike you animals.

Came here to say this.

Felt like a tv movie with nudity and drugs.
Perfect description. I like that all four members of the band were featured, but it also created problems with the story. It’s much easier for a biopic to focus on a single band member, with the others playing a supporting role.

I wish they had done this as a like an 8 episode mini series. I liked it ok but they had to rush it along too much.

Never was a Motley Crue fan (or fan of hair bands/party bands, in general). The androgynous looks/garb, marginal rock voices/rock talent, and sophomoric lyrics never appealed to me.
But a lot of dudes in this thread obviously revere their catalogue and are bitter MC wasn't given the Bohemian Rhapsody treatment.
With that said, because of this 'irreverent" TV movie, consider me a fan. Hilarious rollercoaster ride with a touch of heart. These dudes were unfathomably reckless but they were absolutely genuine in their quest for unbridled sex, drugs & RnR. Sounds crazy, but at the heart of this movie, it's ultimately about family. Respect.

As a guy who loves all things 80s and hair metal, this may be one of the greatest movies I’ve ever seen. Lol
For real though, it was well done and didn’t take itself too seriously.

Wish it would have been a documentary instead, felt a little like a made for TV movie, rated R of course..

They didn't spend much time on the Vince Neil's vehicular manslaughter. I think Razzle died instantly. Pics of the scene showed that the impact caused his shoes to come off and were lying in the street. Vince's lawyer basically said you can send him to prison or back to making money. If he's making money he will pay the people in the other car money for medical/long term care etc.
"I wrote a $2.5 million check for vehicular manslaughter when Razzle died. I should have gone to prison. I definitely deserved to go to prison. But I did 30 days in jail and got laid and drank beer, because that’s the power of cash. That’s fricked up."
Vince Neil

Just finished it. Really cheesy and bad acting at times but it was a fun movie overall. The ending with the real life clips really shows that they don’t come close to pulling off the larger than life personalities these guys had.

As a teenage metalhead in the '80s, I thought it was a pretty good movie. The Crue were cliched rock star hedonists then but they made some pretty good music. I can see how some people just think they're cheesy. But you can make that claim about alot of popular bands. Throw some nostalgia and tragic history from these knuckleheads lives into a Netflix movie and it comes across as slightly sappy and heartwarming. Rock and Roll, tits, drinking, drugs and pussy; close enough to what the '80s were actually like for a bit of reminiscing. 4 out of 5 stars.

I know Netflix has been known for creating different icons for movies based on their little algorithm, but my icon for this movie is Ozzy snorting ants.

My wife said, "It's so bad, but I can't look away."
This movie won't win any awards, but as a low budget made-for-TV movie, it was a fun watch.

Ramsay Bolton plays Mick Mars noticed that right away. Had no idea Machine Gun Kelly played Tommy Lee.

I had no idea what the frick a Machine Gun Kelly was.
Really enjoyed it for what it was. Should have been a miniseries, though. Acting was shitty, but that's OK.
Mick Mars really is a weird-arse demon.
