I was surprised to see Stroll currently sitting 12th in the driver standings, though that gets propped up a bit by his 4th finish in Germany in the rain, he's currently ahead of Magnussen, Hulkenberg, Grosjean, etc. I expected him to be further down than 12.

Grosjean has 6 DNFs this year

I think Toto is still Bottas's agent. Or on his 'management team', something like that.

People who gave Ferrari grief for pairing Vettel with Raikkonen should do the same to Mercedes. They're clearly keeping Hamilton happy. Makes sense to me but so did the VET/RAI pairing.

That's better than I was giving him credit for.

I'm sure some were due to mechanical failures but still...not good. I half expected Haas to 86 both drivers but I guess Mag's contract runs for a couple more years. Grojean's contract is up so that's an easy call.

Seems like I read Toto wanted Ocon but Lewis and engineers pushed for Bottas.

Magnussen recently denied it (again) but does anyone think that there is bad blood with Hulkenberg over "Suck My Balls, Honey"?

Kubica just blew his engine. That didn’t look good.

Another engine up in smoke. Max barely set his time before session stopped. With less than a minute left on the clock there won’t by anymore Q1 runs

Giovinazzi blew an engine now.

Verstappen with a hell of Q1 as he was off cycle with power issues and had to get around 5-7 slower cars late in qualifying lap to get a time.

Ferrari's pace seems to be legit since Spa is a power track this bodes will for them next week at Monza AKA La Pista Magica.

Yeah I think Ferrari was favored coming into Spa and it will be that way again at Monza. After that, not so much.

Leclerc owes Vettel big time for his help today. Hamilton overtakes Leclerc on probably lap 41 or 42 without Vettel playing defense earlier in the race

I never noticed Leclerc is a citizen of Monaco. They said this is now the 23rd nationality to win an F1 grand prix. With all the F1 drivers over the years residing in Monaco, it never occurred to me that an actual citizen had never won a gp until now.

Albon got lucky at the end there, but P5 is the best result he could have gotten in a Red Bull at Spa. I hope he doesn't get penalized for that pass in the grass on the last lap. He's got to qualify better of course, but good first race.

Indeed. I'm sure Vettel didn't expect to essentially be a #2 driver by this point in the season, but he was a total pro allowing LeClerc to pass, and then holding off Hamilton as long as he did while losing the tires.
