I will live in Montana. And I will marry a round American woman and raise rabbits, and she will cook them for me. And I will have a pickup truck... maybe even a "recreational vehicle." And drive from state to state.

Have lived in SC, GA, TX, TN and LA.
LA is the worst from crime and economic standpoint.
But grew up here, family is here, left, moved back, left and moved back here again and will leave here in a Morning Call beignet bag.

I have lived in 5 or 6 states and Louisiana was the worst for me. There are amazing people and food in LA but the litter, prevalence of smokers, and “culture” was way worse than the good.
Texas has been the best. Great business culture, people seem healthier, a lot less “culture” and the economy has been great the 10 years I have lived here this time.
Colorado would be the best but the voters have turned that state to shite.

Lived in many states -10 in the South, Northwest, Midwest, and Northeast - and the worst, by far, were CT and MA.

Please do, we can’t wait to get rid of people like you. Minnesota consistently ranks in the top 5 states in which to live while Louisiana usually ranks in the bottom 5.

Of the 10 states I've lived in Arkansas is at the bottom. Louisiana is only a couple of notches higher.
The city you live in is much more important than the state, though.

I’ve lived in Louisiana, Ohio, Texas, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Illinois.
For me it’s probably IL. The state is terribly ran. The weather sucks. Chicago is fun, but other than that it has nothing going for it.

Louisiana.
Great place to visit, but the cost of living is too high and the job market sucks. So not a good place to live. Best thing is to be just across the state line.

I have lived in New Orleans, Lafayette, Birmingham, Gadsden (AL), Nashville, and Atlanta. Any of the places I listed that were not in Louisiana were a better place to live. Atlanta and Birmingham are both underrated beautiful places. Birmingham's north side is bad but "the good side of the mountain" and all around Hoover are very well developed. Birmingham was my favorite. Not a a Falcons fan but Atlanta was also very nice and pretty. Lafayette is the worst due to traffic, perpetual road work, not much effort in landscaping to make things look nice, etc. Even New Orleans believes in the concept of a grassy median. In Lafayette people will make a left out of Chick-fil-a on Ambassador across 4 lanes of traffic.

TX, NC, TN, GA
Don’t remember TX. NC was by far the best. TN worst because of Memphis. GA is shite outside of Atlanta metro.

As an adult, I've lived in VA, OH, and FL. My least favorite of them by far was Virginia. I lived in the Norfolk/Va Beach area and for a metro area of almost 2 million people, there was absolutely nothing to do there once I saw all of the American Revolution stuff (which was cool).
Virginia Beach has got to be the most overrated beach area in the country.

As an adult I've lived in LA, MS, TN, FL and now Texas. Currently in West Texas, and its the worst. Folks here are so "Texas proud", but they cant bother to pick up their trash or their dog's poop. They cant be wrong in anything. Middle of nowhere, no rivers, lakes. Uugh. And did I mention the wind? My god, we are under a 65 mph wind advisory today and the NWS said to keep small animals inside! WTH.
