Hopefully Brees restructures for the sake of the team.

If you're going to mention Armstead, Unger, & Warford...you can probably include Peat (9.625 mil) as well. I doubt anything will happen to any of their contracts though.

Kind of a long-shot, but Patrick Robinson could possibly be a candidate to restructure. He makes 5.35 mil in 2019.

I agree on Coleman, Meredith & Klein. Those are the 3 most probable.

Bye Coleman. One of the bigger head scratching signings last year

Yep. I could see us restructuring Meredith & Klein, but Coleman's cap # is so absurd that he just needs to be cut. It's about as bad as it gets.

Honestly, if you give Peat an extension, this is the year to do it. His $9.6 Million hit is absurd given his health and performance issues. If you don't come to a long term deal, I'd cut him and get a better and more consistent Guard for like $6 million on a 3-4 year deal and use the savings to get a legit back up OT.

That's better that wasting that much on him because of his versatility when his performance is sub-par at both positions when he's in there.

I'd eat the $1.5 million extra cap hit on Coleman for this season rather than using the June 1 cut designation, unless we need that small amount. We still save $4 million with cutting him and he can be replaced with a special teamer at the league minimum.

Anzalone was surprisingly healthy this year given how much time he missed last year. Is it worth figuring out a way to keep Klein around just in case this year was the anomaly for Anzalone and not last year?

I don't see Meredith's contract changing. They brought him in which a bad knee and still gave him that deal. I think this will be the season to determine his fate.

As someone else posted I think you can include Peat with the other 3 linemen and you can see them targeting extensions for all 4; with Peat most likely. Peat also has the least leverage because there is 0 dead money with a straight up cut.

Also, I think Cam Jordan could see a restructure of some sort. If memory serves he has a roster bonus due this season. Been awhile since I have seen the details of his contract.

Anyone know what the dead money is on the cap this season?

Dead money is a little over 4 mil.
3 mil of that goes to Fleener.

Good advice from The Patriot on F.A. signings. Nothing wrong with a big name guy if you hit on them, but this is true for guys like Fleener & Jairus Byrd.

If you're going to shell out big money in free agency...you better give it to a guy with low bust potential.

All in for Mathieu or Earl Thomas. I know they'll be pricey but exponential upgrades over Coleman.

I'd take either of them on a 1 year deal in a second. Hopefully we have the money, & hopefully they want to win a Super Bowl.

Probably. I don't think most people hold it against you though.

It is imo. If Anzalone goes down, I'd rather Robertson take over his job. Robertson can actually cover at a respectable level. Klein is a run stuffer. He's not worth 6 mil a year imo.

I think Klein is good at what he does, but that's not worth 6 mil imo. We could also re-sign Te'o to play MLB.
