Should I tell him? Or do you want to?

I want a prequel with Baze and Chirrut defending the last Jedi Temple . They're are by far my favorite non-OT characters.

A side plot could be Saw building his rebellion guerilla style

He’d be great as well. I still can’t believe the hyperdrive weaponry made it off of the cutting room. Anyone with any remote understanding of Star Wars or plot structure in general. I think Rian is actually skilled at directing, but he needs a good producer to rein him in and to have no creative control whatsoever. Seriously, don’t even have him in the editting room and just have a good producer oversee the editting.

This along with Leia Poppins and the farcically stupid Rose quote really stand out to me as things that should have been scrapped in the initial plot discussions.

Makes you wonder what franchise-destroying decisions ACTUALLY got cut.

Not a lie:

Rey has a glowstick dance party with the Porgs and she uses her lighrsaber to dance battle them.

Seriously. That's a real scene that was cut.

Go watch the Mr. Plinkett on TLJ. They show some Rian Johnson behind the scenes stuff, there was some REALLY REALLY bad stuff that got cut.

The behind the scenes stuff really does tell the story on how this happened, just like you could see what Lucas was doing behind the scenes for the prequels and why the prequels were they way that they are.

The Behind the Scenes stuff I’ve seen are clearly blatant and manufactured lies. Everyone is just so full of shite. The only people who have been remotely honest involved in this project have been Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, and Adam Driver. All 3 knew it was a piece of shite on arrival.

What did Driver say?

I knew Hamill said he fundamentally disagreed with the way Luke was portrayed...which was correct.

Then Daisy talked how Rian totally trashed JJ's script.

Driver wasn’t overt, but he said a couple of times to the press that he was really nervous how the fans would respond to the movie, which to me means he knows it’s a pile of shite. He wasn’t nearly as direct as his other two cast mates.

I have no problem with that. TFA wasn't very good. It was boring and predictable.

Jesus how the hell did we get here? I know JJ isn’t a great director but he at least payed the groundwork for an interesting story possibility albeit a very safe one. And if the stories are true that Johnson scrapped JJs plot outline in favor of the nonsense that got put on screen, holy hell.

At the end of the day $$$ talks. Disney is spending a metric ton on park expansions surrounding Star Wars. Memes aside, people need to be excited to spend their money. They’ve got to do something to right the ship.

Finn had some really good potential as a great character

The character had great potential but an ex stormtrooper as comic relief has to be done carefully....and of course they botched it. I never bought him as a trained soldier. The character needed to be played in a Drax vein...ie a trained killer trying not to be a trained killer...with little knowledge of the outside world. He would’ve been much more interesting and sympathetic.

this seemed to bother me the most when I found out that he was supposed to be part of an elite trooper program under Phasma. You don't pull Navy Seals/Rangers/Green Berets and put them on sanitation duty, you push their training and keep them sharp.

Except that's not what she really said. Also JJ didn't write scripts for all 3 movies. He was literally re writing TFA as Johnson was writing TLJ.

Daisy said something a long the lines that JJ had some ideas but they didn't do any of those for TLJ.

I fully believe JJ had some overall vague ideas on the way it could go, one has to when writing the first movie of what will be a trilogy, but he didn't write scripts and then Rian trashed them. Look at the timelines on when JJ took over and rewrote TFA and the announcement of Rian writing and directing TLJ.

He also said he was wrong in the same quote. Months before the movie opened.
