Why did Trump not push through the Wall when he had both Houses?

Just wondering. Honest question.

I’m sure after the Rinos showed their asses during the attempt to repeal Obamacare, trump didn’t want to give them the chance to do it again.

This is a new angle I haven’t seen discussed yet.

Because it takes a super majority not simple majority. He needed Dems to side with the wall also.

Because he can't close a deal.
Anything else?

How many fricking times is this going to be asked? He didn’t have the votes

You're getting flak, because this exact question has been posted every 2 days for the past week and a half, usually by a newly registered poster or someone with no regular presence on the PT board. Maybe your question is sincere, but this is a question typically asked by liberals in a weak gotcha attempt to try to discredit Trump, knowing full well that 60 votes in the Senate was required and that no dems would dare vote against their party in support of the wall.

Thanks Ten Wheels for your informative answer, that makes sense.

Still no valid answer has been given to OP question.
He probably wishes he’d negotiated more with a few Senate dems last year vs Pelosi and a dem house interested in impeachment.
Fart of the Deal

Your once a month ventures here should be sufficient to have had this explanation fully fleshed out so that "even a cave man could do it"
Not a serious question at all.

Uh, how many times ? 60 votes in Senate, that’s whats needed to break filibuster, didn’t have it.....

An honest question that has been asked and answered on multiple occasions in multiple sources, including this board.
At this point, I have to assume that you’re stupid or willfully ignorant.

Better timing to bring it up now as fuel for re-election. History tells you the party in power will lose house, senate, or both before next election. You have a no-lose position that the opposition party can’t give in on, and you beat them to death with it. You remind the people of the US these same Democrats gave a corporation 11 billion under Obama but won’t give you 5B to protect the security of the US. You’ve got the media with so much fake news reported it’s comedy at this point.
You don’t just win. You twist the political knife. That is what Trump is setting up. It’s brilliant, and the media won’t dare highlight what he’s doing, because then you admit how strategic the Orange Man is

Because he needed 9 or so Dems he knew he wouldn't get he wanted to avoid shutdown because with both chambers of Congress and the Executive branch in republican hands it would have looked terrible to voters who pay only modest attention. They wouldn't be aware of the cloture vote level of 60 needed to get things moving in the Senate. He offered them a generous deal with DACA and they didn't bite. Once the election was over with mixed results it was time to get real.

Have the Dems ever filibustered or just threatened to and the GOP caved?
