Lol everyone keeps bringing this up as if it's not completely different.

Baker was a walk on at both places. Kendall can go to WVU, sit out a year, and walk on just like Baker did.

No they didn't. Stop gobbling up the Mayfield family narrative.

Baker was going to get a scholarship from Tech. It's not like Kliff told him to pound sand.

He's a redshirt.

I still don't care. Blocking a transfer of a kid you aren't going to play is weak shite.

I don't disagree, but he's a redshirt and his scholarship still goes for another football season after graduation.

I'm only arguing that it's not comparable to Baker.

Baker sat out a year as a walk on without a scholarship.

Kendall has no one stopping him from doing that.

This.

Glad others are arguing this

Ludicrous to compare the two.

We would get him for two years as well

We would have a legit QB competition in the summer b/w him an Allison

both ESPN300 recruits

Rattler wasnt going to start this year anyway most likely.

Hurts only has one year of eligibility left.

Fields would have at least two years so it's a much different story.

I would guess Riley discussed this with Rattler before it happened.

I eagerly await the day Clay Travis gets busted sending dick pix to 15-year-olds. If I'm real good, maybe it will turn out he was sending them to teenage boys.

It's incredibly common for schools to block transfers to schools they will play in the near future

Not as common anymore. Believe the sec has a rule now where coaches can’t block transfers like that

No it means Travis was following him

Couple years. They changed it after Saban tried to block player transferring to UGA as a grad transfer. He ended up caving but the SEC nonetheless implemented a rule the following year that coaches can’t block inter-conference transfers. Think the Big10 and Pac12 may have similar rules but not 100% on that.

In fact the NCAA this year removed the rule that allowed coaches to block transfers; however, conferences can still have their own restrictions LINK /

Honestly blocking transfers is becoming a thing of the past. Now that the ball started rolling with restrictions being lifted in conferences, it’s bad PR for a coach to do it now even if he’s able to.
