I... I... I don’t know how to feel right now.

I love that Reitman is on board, and like the idea of using the "original" universe, but no Harold Ramos is tough.

I think Ivan Reitman would make a good Egon

If it is a good story and does not rely on queef and poo jokes it will do well.

I just love the universe they've created and want it to continue

Jason reitman is the hero we need!
I have confidence in him putting together a fun and competent story.

Need to just let it go. They want do desperately to revive the brand but it's gone.
Egon is dead. The remaining original cast is super old and fat and depressing.
Theres simply no way this will be any good or live up to expectations.
Young kids are not going to go see a movie with a bunch of geriatric Ghostbusters.
The old fans don't want to see their beloved heroes replaced with new imposters.
I'm sick to death we didn't get more than two real Ghostbusters movies, but that's all we're ever going to have.

Reitman worked with Bill Burr on "The Front Runner". He'd be great as a pissed off ghost that needs busting.

I don't necessarily like this idea, but as a slap in the face to the monstrosity that was the remake thing, I fully support it.

There's always the cartoon series.

[Checks shelf to make sure original Ghostbusters DVD is still there.]
If I made it through the last one I can take a chance on this one too.

Not true. I'd go see a Ghostbusters with new actors if it's done well and reflects the well on the older movies instead of the mega-CGI scooby doo female Ghostbusters.

Disagree completely. I am a huge Ghostbusters fan, and I would definitely go see a new one if it was done well and in the spirit of the original.
I don't want to see the old characters in lead roles, but I would welcome a passing of the torch movie where new characters take over under the direction and guidance of the old characters.
As long as it's written well, the all female one definitely wasn't.

I dont disagree that they need to drop a 3rd movie idea, but the brand is far from dead. It's more popular now than it was 15 years ago.
When Harold Ramis died, they should've left it alone. I'm not opposed to the idea of an animated movie, but live-action should've been over with. Dan Aykroyd told me a good 10 years ago that he was taking information of fan groups wherever he stopped because the studio would be contacting us for promotional work and cameos.
Ghostbusters has always been his baby. Its come so close to happening so many times since the mid 90s. If you look at the extras on the Blues Brothers 2000 DVD, it lists Ghostbusters 3 in his filmography. They just never could get things off the ground whether because of Murrays hesitation, or the studios hesitation, or whatever else.
As long as Paul Feig stays far away from this, I'll stay cautiously optimistic. Regardless, if it has Ghostbusters in the title, I'll be there opening night. I was there opening night in 2016(which, on a side note, I found out a day before that I had an invitation from Sony to be in LA for the premier ??)

Knowing modern Hollywood, they planned this all along. They get to double dip the reboot money with the shitty SJW version and now the "Classic Coke" version will wipe that all away and "make it right."
Is the core concept of a bunch of dumbasses doing supernatural shite so complicated that they can't apply it to something else and make a great original movie?
They do know that the original could have been about gardening, but with that cast, still would have been a hit, right?
