According to Birth. Movies. Death., it is now believed that the main characters in the new film will be kids around the age of 12 or 13. While presently unconfirmed, sources suggests there will be as many as four teenage protagonists - two girls and two boys. Another report only mentions two kids, but the character descriptions bear a striking resemblance to traits held by Ramis’ and Aykroyd’s characters in the original. Allegedly, the film will center on a “family who moves back home to a small town…[and] learn[s] more about who they are and the secrets of the town itself.”

I would be very shocked. From my understanding, the script isn't even completed just yet. The talk is, like always, passing the torch. But I dont see them using 12-13 year olds for that. Reitman has said he wants it to unwrap like a present. Anything right now is just speculation.

i've read a few comments stating that the barn/farm is ray's. remember them leaving the bank after getting a mortgage and him saying, "my parents left me that house. i was born there."

he doesn't mention a farm/barn, but the location could very well be his.

That's been my theory. Or it could be, after the company closed down again, he moved out in to the middle of nowhere. When/if it starts filming, we will learn a little more from whatever set photos get leaked. There does appear to be ectoplasm on the fence on the right side as the camera approaches the barn. Just a quick look, but not 100% sure.

My personal theory is that it'll be pretty simple. Ghostbusters closed down. Things got quiet. They all went their separate ways. Egon will either be dead or will have "disappeared." I dont think they'll directly address him not being there aside from a short reference. Wouldn't be shocked if Peter is a game show host now. Ray, I expect something like a teacher maybe. Winston maybe a sheriff in his home town.

From the teaser it sounds like someone is tinkering with a proton pack(aside from it firing being the obvious, it sounds like a tool being used rather than it just malfunctioning) I'm hoping the original proton packs will be back. Was incredibly disappointed with the 2016 packs. The '84/'89 proton packs are iconic.

I know for a fact that the car seen is the original Ecto-1. It's usually sitting on the Sony backlot outside the Ghost Corps office. It disappeared for a little bit a couple months back. I'm eager to know how/if they'll explain the change back from the beefed up Ecto-1A from Ghostbusters 2. That car has been stored away and completely stripped bare since 2009 so it isn't likely to make an appearance.

Needless to say, I have high expectations, but trying to keep them lowered. It helps that Jason Reitman is also a fan of Ghostbusters. With his dad directing them and being on the sets of both films, I think he wants to do it justice.

Does this mean Hi-C Ecto Cooler will return? That was the only good thing that came out of the Girl Ghostbusters.

Sony already advertising. Im out. Doesn't sound like a genuine effort but another Sony notch on the rushed half arse shitty decisions buckle.

I guess they want "new" Ghostbusters fans, so it sounds like they're just going for young children. Only problem is the Ghostbusters name means absolutely nothing to younger kids, nothing at all. So why, yet again, is the Ghostbusters name being dragged into this?

I'm not worried about it yet. When the people I know that are involved with it start to worry, then I'll worry.

That being said, I'd still be extremely surprised, this early in pre-production, if these reports are accurate.

It's 2 teen aged boys and 2 teen aged females

That is your new Ghostbusters crew.

Sounds like many ghostbuster fans just don't want it done, at all. Why bastardize it, just let it go

Teens can be 18/19 year old college students. I dont believe the 13 years old story.

Many of us, me included, are skeptical but hopeful after the abomination of 2016. Jason Reitman is a fan himself. His father and Dan Aykroyd are both involved as well and I know Dan will be allowed more input instead of being shut out like he was in 2016.

I have said many times that it should've been left alone after Harold Ramis died, but if it's going to happen, it's going to happen.

Doing a proper sequel to the originals is not insulting to the reboot. GB2016 completely ignored the original storyline. If this is insulting to GB2016, then GB2016 is insulting to GB/GB2

Like I said, so much sweeter.

I mean, if it's a better film, men or women, isn't that a good thing? No, if it's all men, which is won't be, no matter if it's the greatest movie ever, it still sucks because men

Theres a surprisingly good amount of people that had no idea Ghostbusters: Answer the Call was a reboot. Then people that are genuinely claiming sexism saying they have to prove their toxic masculinity by making another with all men. Ridiculous.

Ghostbusters existed before 2016. They're all just guests in the franchise. The real Ghostbusters were and always will be Peter Venkman, Egon Spengler, Ray Stantz, and Winston Zeddemore.

Erin, Abby, Jillian, and Patty can exist in an alternate universe/timeline where they belong.
