In my experiences it's faster to go inside and order than going through the drive-thru. And I'm always asked what I ordered at the window if I decide to do the drive-thru.

My dad always liked the gizzards.

They changed the biscuit recipe at some point. They used to be insane.

It’s a franchise, they all the same. Except if some offer options like chicken livers.

But if the character were white, some of the same folks would lament the cultural appropriation.

I think the lady comes across very professional. She looks more like management than mammy.

The only place I’ve found livers is on the buffet in Lafayette. Are there others still offering this goodness? Used to stop and stock up at the one just over the Sunshine bridge on my way to fish on the coast. Livers and onion rings FTW

The thing about livers is a joke.

I’ve never seen one offer livers.

The blueberry biscuits with the sugar icing were to die for as they were made in he little side window room as a kid.

The original dirty rice was better than it is now.

Here's another one. There's only 1 single Popeyes restaurant with a buffet, and it's in Lafayette.

There used to be one in S. Huntsville but Popeyes forced the owner to close it down. They sold to a company called Sweet P's out of the Carolinas...and started selling the same chicken on a buffet...it was Popeye's recipe but different (better) fries. That has closed too now.

Agreed.

Popeyes biscuits used to be the best thing about Popeyes.

Now, half the time I throw them in the trash. I’ve got to be extremely hungry to eat one.

The McDonalds on Vets by the parish line in Metairie makes better biscuits than the Popeyes on Vets by Bonnabel.

Never been to a Popeye's before. Just looked at their locations here in Birmingham and realized why. You don't want to be anywhere near one of their locations here after dark.

I worked for a company that deliveres to Popeyes in the late 90's early 2000s. When I started we were delivering biscuit mix and buttermilk, through the course of mine time there more and more stores went to frozen buscuits.

Random useless fact:

The last time I ate Popeyes, it was in Schweinfurt, Germany.
