Why didn’t Trump get wall approval when Repubs controlled everything?

Someone school me on this. Was it not feasible during the first 2 years to get this done? I’m just not well educated on all of this. Seems dumb to have waited until now to try and get this done but I’m sure I’m missing something.

Need 60 votes in the Senate. Still don't have enough Senate votes. Shut down gov't until the dems base start sky screaming.
Dems will be holding their own voters hostage because they are unwilling to give $5 Billion for a wall to keep illegal immigrants out of the US so they do not steal their jobs (not all illegals plan to work, these will be taking their food stamps, medicaid, and housing allowances, so the real US citizens will get less).

Blame McConnell for that. He refused to go nuke and get it approved. The dems would have done it but he doesn't have the nuts to pull it off. This is on him. Like the Mueller thing is on the idiot senator Sessions. Pussys playing nice. instead of leading.

Because Paul Ryan kept blocking him on this at every turn and making sure no wall funding bill got to the senate.
And that includes giving an establishment option for the Goodlatte bill even though it got more votes than ryan's cuck bill.
There were other bills that had a much better chance of passing like ObamaCare repeal, tax reform, criminal justice reform, reforming the VA, and repealing a bunch of ObamaCare regulations. Those were more guaranteed wins and Trump went for quantity here.
Good riddance to that swamp puppet. No wonder Mittens made him his running mate in 2012.
