Asking for my gardener’s assistant.

Seriously, is a Rolex a sign of class, or just an expensive relic of old people?

I have two and haven’t worn a dress watch in years.

People born in 2000 are going to look at wristwatches like folks born in 1980 look at pocket watches.

I went with Cartier for this season’s gifts for top performing executives.

No. You can buy a used one at the pawn shop for 3k if you want to be a poser. Same for all the expensive bags and shoes that women want. Welfare queen can spend her income tax on a $1000 bag because she doesn’t have any bills to pay.

Hard to argue that’s not a beautiful watch

Jesus, this trope is old and worn out.

Anyone who considers a watch a status symbol should eat a bullet. I like my Rolex because it keeps perfect time and is water proof. Function over small-dicked-and-poor-narcissism, I guess.

I assume they are but wouldn't waste money on it. I love spending money. But it's just superficial and I can get a nice looking 200 dollar watch and wear it for years just fine.

If I'm buying something expensive...it's fun or incredibly used(like a Jetski)

You can buy counterfeit Rolexes for 500-600 bucks that require a knowledgeable jeweler to remove the back, and examine the movement to tell it is a fake, so I just assume every one I see is a fake.

Rolex is a nice watch but overpriced considering what all is out there.

Walking down the shopping alleys of Itaewon, South Korea.....

“Hey G.I.!! Me have Rolex!! Good deal for you!! 50 dollar!! Genuine!”

No thanks. I don’t wear a watch to show off. I’ll stick with my basic black banded G-Shock that is functional anywhere.

I went with an Omega Seamaster. If it’s good enough for James Bond it’s good enough for me.

The most complements I got was for a stainless Swiss Army watch I got with credit card reward points.

Most folks these days have smart watches.

It’s not this.

And, a lot of douches buy Rolexes for “show”, but they are a quality time piece and respected in the watch community.
