I still feel bad for Collins after that shite right before the draft, easily a first round pick, he got screwed
I didnt really follow the conclusion of what really happened.
But seeing how he didnt go to jail, ya that sucked and cost him a ton of money.

Well we haven't been terrible at developing OLman and the only reason we haven't developed that dominant OT is because we haven't had one on the roster for years.
I would point to how we turned OGs into Tackles which is much more tough and we've done a pretty good job with it. Give us a true tackle and we'll make you a star at your position. That the angle I would use if that argument came up. We've cross trained OLman better than anyone and if we didn't have to cross train imagine what we could do with you.
Yes we do need to start landing true OTs who are dominant. I think LSU has a couple on the roster now in Wire and Rosenthal then if Parker comes he'll be a 3rd true tackle. Those guys will change that narrative. I'm sick of hearing it bc it's far from the truth. LSU would thrive with a couple of true top 10 tackles. We would get them where they need to go at the next level as well.

Just wow.

That would have been a better post. The problem is probably related more to not getting the top OTs to sign with us lately more than developing them. Cam Robinson would have been just as much a beast here. Losing him still hurts. BTW, Turner was/is a guard; a really good guard.

Since 1998, LSU has had:
Alan Faneca
Todd McClure
Brandon Winey
Louis Williams
Stephen Peterman
Andrew Whitworth
Herman Johnson
Joe Barksdale
Trai Turner
Jerald Hawkins
Vadal Alexander
Ethan Pocic
Will Clapp
ALL taken in the NFL draft, and but for some stellar police work by the BR fricking PD, La'el Collins would have have been drafted in the first round, less than 4 years ago.
That's 15 out of 20 or 21 drafts. While I agree we need to do better - we should consistently have an OL going in most, if not every, drafts. But to suggest we don't develop OL is just utter, negatiger, defeatish bullshite.

That's what the Tenners think as well. My question to them was, if he's such a lock, why didn't he sign this week? Why hasn't he committed?

Well LSU currently has 6 OL in the NFL. Tennessee has 4 OL currently in the NFL.
So is Tennessee better at "developing" OLs than LSU as you indicated? Seems not.
You say a lot of things with nothing more then your opinion on things. It would be ok but your opinion is not accurate as usual.
Check your facts and don't post BS.

Don't know but sure hope we are working on him. Not sure we got a tackle in this year's group. Bradford and Perry may both end up being guards. Still hoping we get Parker but he didn't sign.
I don’t know about that., man. Maybe the fear is that a great ol can grade out well; just for their quarterback to toss it in the dirt and that would get old after a while.

Is LSU really putting forth a lot of time and effort to get Wright to campus in January before the February signing period?

Right now, I'd say he's going to be an OG. But let's get him on campus and see what he looks like in drills first instead of just basing it on weight. Thinks CAN change, and he has been playing OT.
I'd much rather be trying to mold a body than teach a mind/muscle memory if I'm Cregg. There's where the 'hope' lies for me.
As much flack as he gets Deculus is doing pretty well; needs to get better. Charles is still good and learning, needs to get his body control improved and stronger. I'm very curious about Cameron Wire... haven't seen enough to say yay or nay yet. Have both high hopes and expectations of Rosenthal. I think he has an NFL future at OT, but is raw; Cregg will have to put in work there along with Dare.
My point of the above paragraph is that if Bradford is just a body/weight issues (i.e. his speed and agility are adequate at a good weight) is that we have time to re-mold him. We'll know about Bradford in early 2020 with hints along the way. Parker is just made for OT; get that man a tutor and show him avg pay in the NFL for TEs not named Gronk vs. OTs.

Only visit he's had is to Tennessee. Seems like a foregone conclusion.
