My premium last year for two three-year old vehicles was $2,466. Premium for 2019 looks like its going to be $2,967. Roughly 20% increase. Is everyone seeing a similar trend for auto insurance?

I was surprised with my renewal notice for my homeowner's insurance renewal. Slightly less expensive for 2019 (but not enough to offset the big increase in auto insurance).

You can thank the 60% of Louisiana rolling around with no insurance and an intense desire to sue.

Time to go shopping.

Insurance companies punish loyalty.

I went through the same thing last year and cut my costs by 50%.

Yep. Mine went up almost exactly 20%. Never had a claim, no ticket in the last three years.

My annual cost for 2 vehicles went from $2,245 to $2,595.

Increased about tree fiddy.

Actually, mine went down, because I’m smharta and have an Independent agent who shops my coverage.

I had to deal with this in Georgia. They will tell you it's all insurance. Shop around.

I just paid my insurance for the year and actually went down by 25%. I had a agent shop around after being with State Farm for years and got me a better deal with progressive for the same coverage.

price shop every few years.

It may or may not have anything to do with LA or your company in general. If you have the same insurance for multiple years they figure you aren't going anywhere and say, frick it, let's see just how much this person will pay.

There is zero reason the state cannot cancel car registration when insurance is not on a car. When you switch insurance the state is informed. If there is no new coverage applied in 30 days then you revoke registration no license plate turned in or coverage ontained you fine the shite out of them.

The fact is though that Louisiana doesnt want to fix the problem.
