The only thing you should apologize for is your lack of comprehension skills and perpetual need to be butthurt.

I answer phones, file stuff, and show my boss how to move the pane on her outlook when she messes it up. Today, I typed an address into a Word doc because it had some weird formatting stuff in it.

I am an attorney. I work on the seventh floor of an office building. I have an office, and an assistant. I spend 50% of my work week in the office. When I am there, I am returning phone calls, answering emails, posting on Tiger Droppings, buying stuff on Amazon, giving my assistant instructions, working on court docs (pleadings), writing occasional letters, reading through discovery, and reviewing/signing a whole lot of stuff prepared by my assistant. The rest of work week I am in court, meditations, or depositions. When I have a Trial coming up, I work from home to prepare. I actually like my job. I may hate it if I was in the office 100% of the work week like some people.

Admit it...you are watching porn all day. I know someone who has known you for years. They say this description you have given is fantasy.
Nice try.

A lot of looking at computer monitors and holding meetings. I said that’s 90% of it

Never at work my friend. Our internet is monitored. As a matter of fact, they're probably reading us right now.

Sounds like a whole bunch of unnecessary bullshite to me.

All these useless administrative positions were fabricated out of our societys continued misplaced value on bureaucracy and busywork.

If it's an engineering firm, it could have mechanical engineers, chemical engineers, electrical engineers, industrial engineers, civil engineers, etc. Then there can be mechanical/pipe designers/drafters and designers and drafters for all the other disciplines.

It all depends on how many projects a company has, as to how many people they have employed.

Then you have project controls, which covers scheduling, procurement, etc, etc.

Then you have HR, you have project managers, disciple managers, IT department. Sometimes they could have people who work for other contractors that work on projects with that particular firm who work there temporarily, etc.
