Bowhunting Success in Oklahoma

I spent the last 5 days at a place we lease out in Western Oklahoma. Before this, I've only hunted there during the opening weekend of bow season and turkey season.
This time due to other trips I pushed it back and it was worth it. The bucks were chasing does hard. I saw no less than 10-20 deer each day.
The trip was not without it's low points though. On the first afternoon, I saw a nice buck about 200 yards out in the brush and decided to try to grunt at him. It worked and he came in on a string. Unfortunately I rushed the shot and hit him high above the shoulder and he took off. He was back in front of the camera the next day looking completely fine.
I got to full draw and he was looking right at me. Kind of got my nerves going and I just rushed before settling the pin
Bye! (you can see the green nock lit up where he was standing)
Here he is the next afternoon (I wasn't there of course)
Right here you can see the blood above his shoulders. Super high.
Should be a great buck next year!
The next morning I saw a bunch of deer but no shooters including this former 8pt with a broken rack
Dad shot a nice buck that afternoon (12/2)
I checked the camera at another stand I love to hunt and decided to hone in there and hunt for these two bucks
(yes the WGI camera actually worked, I was shocked too)
I hunted that stand on Tuesday morning and saw the big 6 at a distance but thats about all. I went back after eating lunch and saw deer all evening. At 5:30 I heard some grunting and a doe appeared. I watched her a while but couldn't see the buck making all of the grunts. Finally, the big 6 and 4 other bucks walked out. They were moving all over and I was worried I wouldn't get a shot. The doe began to leave and he followed. I was able to stop him at 32 yards and buried the arrow in him quartering away. He was down inside of 50 yards!

Excellent post. Congrats on the bow kill! Beautiful part of the country right there.
I'll be heading up to NW OK the day after Christmas for a week and it'll be my last chance to kill a buck for the season. I'm very excited.

More Red River pics
I knew sunrise was around 7:30 am and I hit the state line at 7:20. So I pulled over and waited a bit. I looked east and saw these. A buck in chest deep water and a flock of turkeys
Buck is kind of hard to see. It was far

Coldest day was 15* in the morning
Most mornings were in the upper 20's
Warmed to the 40's
Temps weren't bad. The wind out there is the issue. 20 mph is pretty normal. Thankfully it was decently calm most days. Only 20-30 mph winds twice

Complete pass through on the first buck and he was back the next day? That's insane. I had an abscess on my arse and couldn't walk for three days. They are tough animals.
I don't see the blood so I'll take you're word on that.
