We hunted public land. We used OnX a ton to find smaller pieces of public and to get access to private. Don’t be afraid to ask permission to hunt some of the private stuff. Smaller tracts are typically easier to get access to than larger tracts. Go sit down with area FWP agents. They will steer you in the right direction.

Crappie will spawn when the waters get to the right temperatures... and are typically the highest around a full moon. This year the February full moon isn’t until the 27th. This bodes well for the guys that are farther south. The March full moon will be the 28th. The 3 to 4 days leading up to the full moons in these two months will be lights out.

Hooks Game Calls has a small frame version. These are great for people that traditionally have to cut down mouth calls.

We moved to northwest Arkansas from West Monroe about 15 years ago. It is the best kept secret for places to live south of the Mason Dixon.
