sitting at that counter in the nola location can be dangerous... and expensive. I can sit there with a few cold beers and go through a few dozen oysters in a few minutes.

of all the oysters I've eaten there, over many years, I have ONLY sat at the char oyster bar counter

I’ve had drago’snonce and was thoroughly unimpressed.

I like ACMEs but I prefer

Drago's isn't so-so. Superior is very so so. I like to put bacon bits on mine. real bacon bits.

So they’re terrible everywhere else, and just amazing at Drago’s? That’s bullshite. If the oysters are freshly shucked and sauce is good, and let’s be honest it’s not that fricking hard to do, the chargrilleds will be good. They serve them at half the damn restaurants on the coast over here and they’re ALL PRETTY MUCH THE SAME.

Best I’ve ever had was when my friend hired a chef from Harbor House to do them tailgating at a Saints game.

We buy the 40lb (100 oysters) boxes from Crystal Seas and do them ourselves...it’s good, I’m not knocking the taste..just not worth planning a dinner in NOLA around.

I’m damn near always correct.

Drago’s are my favorites in New Orleans though I haven’t had them everywhere.

I like Mansur’s better than Drago’s.

Drago's in Metairie. They get the best oysters and their grill is designed to get hot enough to do them properly. And they certainly have enough practice.

Drago's may have been the standard in 2002- Cochon serves best chargrilled oysters in the city.

I went there for the first time in a while (I've been out of state for a very long time) a few hours before the Saints/Rams game, and I was pleasantly surprised.
