How about we just hire the best coach available and dispense with all the moral preening, unless he's WAAAAY over the line in terms of sleaziness.

I'd take Sark in a second.
He's proven himself as an offensive coach at the college level. He's unlikely to get another NFL OC / College HC offer for a few more years.
If you hire Sark as OC, you probably have him for 2-3 years. That's plenty of time for Sark to transform the LSU offense, recruit some QBs and get the ball rolling in the right direction.

We should take a shot with Sark. I'm tired of being in the bottom fifth of total offense. He'd mix in a lot of different looks and it wouldn't take long for our players to get a handle on his playbook. I can just picture our high scoring offense chugging along.
