Meh he’s not leaving. He’s mentioned every year and we’ll pay to keep him.

This seems like it could happen.

Proving why you need your head coach to be the commodity.. the ability to take good coaches, great recruiters and put them in a coordinator position with no prior experience

Let them all leave. We got coach O

UGA talking like they will casually nab him as Co-DC or a DB coach. Like Raymond would leave his Alma Mater for a lateral move to UGA. Dumb and arrogant.

going from a position coach to DC at a major school is not a lateral move
Posted on 12/2/18 at 6:55 pm to the crue
Co-DC is basically a glorified position coach most times. If they actually gave him the reigns then no it would not be lateral.

If he wants to be a dc I doubt it happens at LSU.

That would be worse for Georgia than LSU. Raymond is a great recruiter but we already have another great recruiter and DB coach on staff, and hiring a completely unproven commodity as your DC is a pretty dumb move even if Kirby is there to back him up.
I’d really like to hear the benefit for Georgia of replacing Mel Tucker with Corey Raymond considering recruiting isn’t really something that Georgia is struggling with right now

He’s not leaving LSU for another secondary coaching job

Lol "lateral move"
When is the last time LSU played in 2 straight SEC Championships and went to the playoffs?

Look I loathe O just as much as you but that’s just ridiculous to mention. If Raymond wanted to leave LSU because he wants to join the winners nick Saban would have hired him 4 years ago.
When I was in Br I saw that dude all over the city seemingly enjoying himself. He’s an alum and we pay him really well. He’d only go to Georgia if he calls plays not because he is just so tired of losing

Baw, I'm just saying going from DB coach at LSU to DC at UGA is definitely not a lateral move.
Hell if he went LSU to UGA to be DB coach, I'm not entirely sure that would be a lateral move either.

They’d probably offer a raise plus more influence in gameplanning, scheming and play calling, though im sure Kirbs would heavily influence it since he’s a defensive guy, the HC, and Raymond has never been a DC at this level.

being "DC" under Kirby is like what Kirby did under Saban
you learn from a superior coach and in an elevated position and set yourself up to pick a top HC job

going from clueless to mediocre is an upgrade but Kirby is not a superior coach

Ah the annual Corey Raymond leaving LSU thread.
Ain’t going to happen.
