Ocasio-Cortez shared the Times article on Twitter and pointed out that “There are many little ways in which our electoral system isn’t even designed (nor prepared) for working-class people to lead.”

The most remarkable thing about “our system” is that this dolt will actually be a millionaire in a couple of years because of it.

Just looked it up, I didn't realize the salary was so high ($174,000).

I retract my agreement.

There is just one problem: the new Democratic-led House won’t be seated until January 3 and Ocasio-Cortez quit her job as a bartender to focus on her campaign, so she has no income and no place to live in Washington, D.C. “We’re kind of just dealing with the logistics of it day by day, but I’ve really been just kind of squirreling away and then hoping that gets me to January,” the 29-year-old Democratic socialist told the New York Times.

She will be a millionaire within 4 years.

Ponder on that for a few moments.

This poor bartender Socialist will be richer and have a higher standard of living than the masses within a few short years.

Why? Nobody forced her to quit her job and not have any income.

Just run up a nice tab on multiple credit cards like Stacey Abrams, and then play the victim some more

Shouldn't you have to work to be considered working class?

I mean, if she actually put in a few applications at bars in DC, there's bound to be some liberal bar owner who would jump at the chance to hire a high profile elected congresswoman to work at their bar for the next 2 months until the new House gets seated.

Thanks. Like I posted before I didn't realize the salary was $174,000 AND their was a $30,000 housing allowance.

My thinking was if someone "working class" had to completely quit their day job then the Congressional salary might not necessarily cover maintaining a second house. I see I was incorrect on that.

Someone needs to explain to her that the big lavish places like Pelosi and Schumer has comes after you get your kickbacks and payoffs for several years.

I mean, we all know rent is cheap in NY and nice places can be afforded on a bartenders salary.

She's a bartender. Is she leading us to believe that she cannot find a 3-month gig as a bartender?

Of course she can, but that is all beneath her now.

Ryan slept in his office.

And not just Ryan. Many congressmen actually live in their offices. There is plenty of room and they come with full bathrooms.

Besides, she'll have an office assignment within the next month, and she won't have to report to work until about 2 weeks before the New Year, so this is a non-story.

Good Lord, some designer LOANED clothes to the photographer for credit on the photoshoot. It is standard practice.

There are plenty of reasons to deslike this loon. No need to fabricate crap.

Yea, you're still missing the entire point of what she said and are still dumb. She didn't say once the Congressional salary kicks in, she still can't afford rent. She can't afford rent until the salary kicks in, because she quit her job and has no income.
