I sense an impending ethic violation

I think the article brings up some valid points about how we have a bunch of millionaires running our country. It's a good reason why the working class is left out of most of the political discussions.
While at the same time being about an unemployed former bartender just getting elected to congress. How exactly are people being left out?

Yea, you're still missing the entire point of what she said and are still dumb. She didn't say once the Congressional salary kicks in, she still can't afford rent. She can't afford rent until the salary kicks in, because she quit her job and has no income.
Well, I wasn't agreeing with the entire point.
I was agreeing with the one line that I quoted (which I've already backtracked twice in this thread).

“There are many little ways in which our electoral system isn’t even designed (nor prepared) for working-class people to lead.”

Or people naïve enough to think it's true.

She just got hired for a lucrative job. She ought to be able to, worst case, obtain a credit card with a high limit.

God damned some of yall are stupid .
It isn't better to attack a Democrat over nothing than it is for liberals to continually attack Trump over nothing. Try having some god damned principles.
The woman actually has a point about our system being designed to keep the average worker bee from gaining power and saying she should go wait table at a DC Hooters until she takes office is stupid.
Yes her political ideology is stupid, but my God...........

Correct. It's just more ridiculous populism.

She can get roommates like a lot of congressmen do. They rent a place together to save money. She must be too good for that.

I mean, DC is not the cheapest place to live, but it's not completely outrageous either -- especially for someone moving from NYC.
Here's Craigslist showing plenty of decent apartments priced anywhere from $1500-2500. LINK
If you can't float a couple of months on that (on credit cards or however), with a $174,000 salary forthcoming, should you really be someone who is making critical decisions with regard to running our country?
