I've heard about Billys and a couple other places. Between Scott to Baton Rouge, where the best place to stop?

Best Stop.

But, it's subjective. I like Billy's, NuNu's, Poche's, and even Bergeron's.

I live in Scott. Here is my take.

Boudin: Billy’s may be a slight bit better than Best Stop, but the line and the wait ain’t worth it. Dons and Nunu’s ain’t even close to the other 2.

Boudin Balls: Best stop is smaller Billys makes giant boudin balls with a crust that people either love or hate.

Pepper jack stuffed: Best stop mixes in the cheese; Billy’s has a cheese ball in the middle of that giant ball.

Boudin rolls/pepper jack rolls: toss up

Sausage: I have no opinion, bc we make our own deer sausage. I do like chicken sausage from nunus and Best stop.

If you go to Best stop, I love their hog head cheese, and you must get some boudin stuffed and sausage stuffed pork chops.

This is worth a bookmark. I'm sure this question gets asked at least every couple months.

Thanks to everyone for answering.

Let the tourist dick with those lines at Billy’s, I’m going to the Best Stop.

Best Stop usually has some pretty good beef jerky too.

How long have you lived in Scott? Back in the day you had 2 choices, Don's Country Corner which served the best boudin balls you'd ever had(they even had a shrimp ball that may have been better than their boudin balls) or you had Early's, which had the best boudin

I'm a Best Stop guy but them and Billy's are 1A and 1B. Nunu's is good too!

Billy's has the best cracklin IMO though. I've had Best Stop, Don's, and Billy's in that area. If there is a better place in that area please let me know.

Early’s had some of the best pre formed burger patties I’ve ever eaten. Too bad they closed and became nunu’s

Now, if I were driving 190, I would grab some link boudin at Karchner’s, pay my speeding ticket, and get some boudin balls from Billy’s in Krotz Springs. Drive west to Port Barre and have some jalapeño cheese bread and a link at Bourque’s. Keep driving west still I turn North for Eunice. I’m gonna get some T-boy’s microwave boudin for my freezer. That’s my favorite stuff. Plenty of liver and green onion. While I’m that close, I’ll keep north to State Park road out of Ville Platte and buy about 20lbs of Vidrine’s smoked pork sausage for my gumbo. Lots of smoke. Their hand sliced bacon is good for beans and vegetables.

I was really looking forward to this place but when I tasted it i was disappointed, no zip, mediocre flavor. Maybe it was a bad batch.

I had the same experience. I was disappointed and didn't get the hype.

I'm not a fan of Kartchner's either. I don't dig the big chunks of fatty pork they use. The texture is off-putting to me when you hit a big glob of fat.

Billy’s pepper jack boudin ball is probably my all time favorite single bite of food. Break it in half first to expose the molten cheese core, of course.
