Why does the left rush to embrace communism?

I'm trying to understand the psychology of it.
Are they so devoid of self confidence that they crave the safety net that removes the expectation of individual accomplishment?

Because there are being tricked to think the world is racist and unfair and communism brings equality. Communism really gives the state every thing everyone has, will have or wants to have. They hate the police but communism is rule by the police state and everyone is in prison.

the left believes that man is inherently bad. Man has bad thoughts, bad desires, bad intentions. Those bad intentions are the hurdle to utopia. The only way to circumvent the inherent evil of man is to appoint a select group of super-geniuses to legislate the "bad" out

I ask myself the same question. There’s certainly a long history of it. Back in the late 60’s Che Guevara came to New York City, and the Left went crazy fawning over him, treating this murderer like he was the greatest celebrity. The useful idiots didn’t realize Che wanted to blow up the Statue of Liberty.

They’re ignorant, they don’t understand that socialism/communism only benefits politicians and the elite that give them lots of money for protection. The government takes control of everything including private businesses.
Election after election is nothing more than candidates offering more free money to citizens for their vote, eventually the money runs out. Venezuela is the most recent perfect example.
