What will continue to be the problem is asking a kid from a poor family in a bad area to wait another year and leave a million bucks on the table. Not saying it’s the best decision long term, but a lot of these kid’s families are looking at them to “save” them. It’s not fair to the kids.

Because waiting one more year is asking too much? Are you stereotyping? Not everyone that has declared early were from poor families living in bad areas.

I met with Emery before the game.......The young man is a class person. He was polite and humble. Wherever he goes he will be a great addition

That’s great to hear. It makes him even more valuable.

I don't think Cain is very dynamic. He plods through high school kids. He's still gonna be tough to bring down in college but he's not gonna be as affective. Tyrion davis is more talented in my opinion. Emery is easily a better prospect than Cain as well.

LSU should show the kid some love but not waste time and miss on someone else because he will stick with UGA

Believe it or not, there are people on this board that have first hand knowledge and know that this kid's family is not shy about talking very openly about his "recruitment." This kid is going to get a school in trouble.

Guy that I work with went to high school with the elder Emery. Apparently he posted on his wall (??) this morning "Time to change yall's mind. Your son needs to join this team. Geaux Tigers!"

Dad replied, "Why cause LSU won an ga loss one game... come on man they both have the same record" (sic)

Side note: I told my coworker that was weird and cheesy.

Well, that isn't promising

The bigger picture is Emery sees the field here sooner AND plays with an even better QB, O-Line and receiving Corp next season.

If Emery does end up at Georgia, I hope that dudes dad goes with him. I'm fine with the kid making his decision, but the dad seems to be including himself in the process way to much.

Ya so Dad doesn’t like O? Sounds a little closed minded to me. Remember kids commit to a program first. And LSU is winning and has a rich tradition of getting back up RB’s to the NFL not just the LF’s and Hill’s... Davis and Cain will do just fine if they want to pass on LSU. Not smart if ya ask me. Lol.

There really is no such thing.

If the kid wants to go to Georgia, or any other school, that's what he should do. If part of that decision is honoring your father's wishes, that's reasonable and the sign of a strong family.

Parents are supposed to give guidance to their kids. The only thing I'd question is Georgia itself. I couldn't think of a worse situation to send your RB son than Georgia.

* The depth chart is crazy at RB
* You can see 5 start RBs right now struggling to get touches
* The coach is a little bitch
* Every top Georgia RB in the last 30 years has had a significant injury

Having said that, if he doesn't go to LSU, I hope he ends up at Georgia. That's much better than playing in the West.

Doesn’t hurt that I have no problem rooting for UGA when they’re not playing LSU

I hope emery finds success wherever he ends up

Thank you NeverOs. Your relentless poison-spewing is coming home to roost. Although losing games and recruits helps you with your ultimate goal.

I don't know if the Dad is a class act or not. Far as I know he's a great human being. I do know that the Dad could've gone to play football at LSU but the cool thing to do was leave the state, because the grass is always greener you know. He went to Knoxville. That didn't work out. Now he, and his family, are back in Louisiana. Maybe he should reflect upon that?

Ive got a georgia fan at work and he says their best rb is Zamir white and he is hurt. They also have cook waiting. Emery needs to play for LSU. Losing Brosette this year. I honestly want Sanders. Does anyone have any info on if we are going after him hard?

Your coworker is right. Georgia is loaded at RB. White, Cook, and Swift are all freshman or sophomores. Holyfield is a junior.

Look at James Cook, guy was the #3 back in the country but he’s down the depth chart because of how good Georgia is at his position and as a result he doesn’t get a single touch on the biggest stage.

Emery could come here, be an hour and change from his family, play right away, and if things stay on the upward trajectory play for national titles and be a king in Louisiana because he’s a local boy who helped bring LSU back to national prominence.

Or he could go to Georgia, and ride the bench for a year or two while only getting garbage time carries in blow outs then finally compete for a lead role as an upperclassman with other top backs.
