Incorrect.

Dude has incredible quickness and burst through
the line of scrimmage. Why do people say these things?
I don't understand.

He just looks slow man. Just pointing out what is obvious from watching his tape. Hopefully you're right about his burst through the hole but with a 4.65 40 yard dash, he does not have game breaking speed.

Emery could come here, be an hour and change from his family, play right away, and if things stay on the upward trajectory play for national titles and be a king in Louisiana because he’s a local boy who helped bring LSU back to national prominence.

Maybe he should speak with Rondell Mealey, another former Destrehan RB. Last I heard he has a plant job. Not exactly living like a king, but a very nice and respectable lifestyle. I’m sure he could get a favor here and there in LA if he ever fell on hard times.

On that note... Hopefully Faulk is using every means, legal, to contact him frequently. Pamphlets, hand written letters, social media (which the NCAA has shown to be completely unable to police), etc.

It's great that Guice is talking to him too, but we need a blitz. Now is the time; hopefully they had 'set the table' for said blitz. And yes, include Mealey in that RB blitz.

At this point in his football life, the kid and his Dad are forecasting a 10 year NFL career and aren't thinking beyond that box.
What I'd hope they'd think through is at a minimum the path to the NFL is identical through LSU as it is Georgia. And in the off-chance he isn't a 10 year NFL veteran post-college, if that is considered a failure, if he fails at Georgia he will be processed and persona non-grata in the state of Georgia. Just an interloper who came to Athens for a period of time. Whereas, in Louisiana he'd always be a former LSU player which has value.

Guy that I work with went to high school with the elder Emery. Apparently he posted on his wall (??) this morning "Time to change yall's mind. Your son needs to join this team. Geaux Tigers!"

Dad replied, "Why cause LSU won an ga loss one game... come on man they both have the same record" (sic)

Side note: I told my coworker that was weird and cheesy.

Its way past time for " fans " to stay out of the recruiting process and just allow the coaches to handle their own recruting.

There are limits, and yeah, sometimes fans can do more harm than good.

But there is no reason to pass on 'free', i.e. in terms of NCAA- permissible, instances of getting the brand of LSU in front of Emery.

We talk about coaches, dad's, bagmen, handlers, etc. getting in their ear. There is no reason to scoff or pass up on peers doing the same.

Since it was at his HS, I'll lumping it under the category of 'peer'.

That's what HS networking is all about, and the benefit of homefield (a.k.a. in state) advantage in recruiting. We get free 'contact' from fans.

I wish we had more 'fans' in Amite getting in ears, and other pockets I won't mention.

Well he ran a 4.65 at The Opening and that's what it has on his ESPN profile. I saw 4.41 on Hudl but I don't buy it. Somewhere in between the two....maybe. Y'all are saying he's faster than leonard fournette. That's simply not true. Have y'all even watched his highlights? The 4.41 time is not accurate.

I doubt that's the case.

Having said that, if that's what they are thinking, they are going to be ultra frustrated if he ends up carrying the ball 11 times a game like they are doing with Swift. That poor kid might get 3 plays in a row and then they take him out.

Dude where in that post do you remotely detect sweating? I don't sweat that easy bro. I'm in charge of hundreds of people in a fast, dangerous environment with lots of money I'm responsible for.

You think I'm the least bit concerned with a HS player? He should be sweating this decision and I'm sure he is or will be if not now. Just like LSU is perfectly fine without Surtain, we'll be perfectly fine without another top end recruit. If he keeps playing games I may not want him at all.

All I'm saying is that he would be crazy not to come here with what we have on the roster, our projected/past success at his position and our upward trajectory as a program overall. Orgeron will get better and better and better as a HC. He's great to play for and has rules for everyone to follow or get lost, no matter who they think they are. We've had quite a few highly rated HS recruits kicked off this team since his arrival but we still manage to kick some butt.

If LSU can somehow land 2 or 3 top end DLman and another top RB, OT, and WR or DB, LB I'd be perfectly fine with that shite. Hell I'd be fine with one RB. Then get another next year. Davis would be pretty good with the backs we already have. Cain would be a bonus or Emery would be a bonus but our passing game is going to get much much better at the end of this year into next.

Again no sweating here pal! You can stop sweating me though.

Dude y'all have 3 5* type of talents on your team. It's inexcusable not to use those guys you have and load up again next year. Maybe find a 3* or 4* that doesn't mind sitting and playing when he's a junior. You're kidding yourself if you think GA is going to be able to keep the type of momemtum y'all have been the last two years. It just doesn't happen like that unless you win every year like bama. Even then it's hard to keep landing 5*s to sit the bench for 2 and 3 years.

If that is true then his dad is going to ruin this kids future acting like that IF the kid even listens to his dad. I know when I was his age if I saw something was a clear advantage for me and my dad didn't agree simply bc of his bias towards one coach or the other when I know he has no clue, I'd tell him to go suck it and do what I wanted. This has to be a little annoying for Emery. His dad all in his business like that. If he's actually responding to every persons little remarks then this dude has serious issues. A father is supposed to be mature, calm and the more steady hand not the other way around. There no way I'd let my dad act like that in my recruitment. IF this is indeed true.

With extreme patience as a runner and has that jump cut ability to change directions when hitting the whole. Also, if Brousette and Cain was to race.Cain would wash him. Nick's doing just fine.

Yes I've watched all of his film,.. and I say he looks very fast..... and here's the video of Coaches timing him, and after he runs it, you can here all of them they say "4.41".. Maybe it was hand timed and not accurate, but I think he'd be closer to 4.5 than 4.6.
you judge for yourself
