I actually envy your delusion. It must be nice floating through life, so dumb you just don’t have a care in the world. For to have a care, would require an understanding.

This post has a Hammertime-ish feel to it.

ETA: Nice to know that your grandfather was white and so are you. We would not have known that if you had not made it clear.

When they left the Klan burned a cross in our front yard just behind the car skeleton. Was a notice to gramps to straighten up. Fire truck didn't come for that.

So the fire fighters were clansmen too?

Damn.

Strange tale. I remember when the klan burned a cross at my school in Metairie in the 70s (T.H. Harris). It didn’t give anyone the feeling that the klan was looking out for us.

The klan showed up for wife beaters, drunks, deadbeats, etc. Not just the racist activities they’re infamous for.

So your grandpapy hung out with the Klan

HE didn't say that...he didn't imply that.
You'd have to have an I.Q of 75 to get that from his story.

No. My Grandfather was not Klan. We were just poor white people without a pot to pee in.

You missed the point friend. My point is you don't have to be a minority to have the deck stacked against you. It happens to a lot of people of no fault of their own, and it's not necessarily racism just because your skin in brown. It's just life, but there's nothing to say it HAS to keep you down. Everyone has the same basic opportunities in this country, and everyone has their own set of odds to overcome, Just everyone doesn't ascribe their odds to sexism, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, etc, even if they exist. Just shut up and keep pushing. Crying about it isn't going to make it go away, make it better, or get rid of it.

You should add that to your OP and it will make a lot more sense.

Given that though, the Klan came to your house because your grandfather chose to drink so much. Not quite the same as for beijgna different race.

Probably the only white guy in the south who's alive that's had the Klan burn a cross in their yard. Lot of people don't know that the Klan used to police their own also.

You could interpret this statement in one of two ways:
1) The Klan policed their own members
2) The Klan policed and expected other white people to behave a certain way

It doesn’t take an IQ of 75 to see how some people may interpret the above statement to mean that his Grandpa was in the Klan. No it doesn’t definitively state that he was a member, but it is a vague remark that needs further explanation.
