I prefer LGA since my parents live in Williamsburg, but it's an absolute shite storm with the construction. At the least, they moved rideshare into the parking garage.

I prefer JFK, but not by much. Once the construction at LGA is complete, that will be the better option.

for whatever reason, flying into LGA is about half price vs flying into JFK for me from Memphis, so I go there.

As far as the physical airport goes I have no preference.

However I pick JFK every time because I'm pretty sure everyone that works at LaGuardia was fired from the DMV for incompetence.

What part of the city are you going to from the airport?

East side: Laguardia

West side: Newark

Forget JFK.

Newark is the correct answer.

In general, I agree. Easy to hop onto NJ Transit into Penn Station.

I am always surprised when using either LGA or JFK how shitty they both can be.

If you are going to Manhattan, flip a coin or find the better airport as to the best flight times/NS/carrier/flier mileage and/or price criteria for you personally.

I like jfk better because you can get to penn station using the LIRR so it beats a $70 dollar cab ride

Same here. You can also take the subway at Jamaica if you want to save some $$. LIRR will save you time, subway will save you money. Total from jfk is $5 at airtrain and $2.50(?) for the subway or I think $7 for the LIRR

My last LGA flight on SW had me departing from a gate directly across from restrooms....I’ve seen better toilet facilities in gas stations. Doors falling off stalls, sink barely connected to wall, rusty stains all over the place.

Newark by a mile, even if you do have to ride the train.

LGA over JFK. The construction looks bad at LGA, but it seems people have learned to navigate the mess. The Delta C/D terminals are renovated, but it’s packed. Use the lounge to get out the crowds. The Southwest gates are about as nice as a Greyhound stop. My last flight out of JFK was at the end of the terminal and felt like I walked to CT. Food is criminally expensive at both.

I’ve heard nice things about Newark. I’m on the UES so its a long way and too many transfers vs LGA. United fares b/t EWR/MSY have been very reasonable lately.

Last time visiting nyc (midtown) i chose JFK due to the ongoing LGA construction. Trafffic was heavy and my driver exited the highway and drove through LGA as some kind of a shortcut. I could’ve saved about a half hour simply flying into LGA and starting the car ride there.

JFK is a pretty shitty airport for being the premier airport of NYC.

I commute to NYC weekly. The above post is 100% correct.
