He shut down any hearing for Garland until after the election. Democrats are now doing the best they can to hold until after mid terms.
When will Congress stop acting like 9 year old kids? This bullshite is lame.

Republicans set the rule here. Have to have an election first.

Presidential election dumb arse.

Agreed -
I suppose the DEMOCRATs would have liked it better if he had held hearings and then paraded a never ending line of liars to claim that Garland was a pedophile, rapist, plastic straw distributor, ISIS sympathizer, ponzi scheme operator, etc. and then voted him down and moved to impeach him from his current office.
THAT would be following the DEMOCRAT procedure.
Instead, he merely followed the BIDEN precedent and deferred to allow the nation to select the direction of the SCOTUS.
and I didn't like it at the time - on a purely 'process' standpoint, but the DEMOCRATs have trashed all sense of fairness for so long that I finally came to the conclusion = "it's about time we come out on the right side of at lease one of these confrontations.'

Manipulating the Procedural Processes is quite different than launching a National, personal SMEAR on an otherwise extraordinarily good individual.
What else is new. They all know that Obama "wiretapped" Trump...and that Hillary cheated Bernie. It's gloves off. Just a matter of how long before the Rule of Law/Equal Justice principle is abandoned, and whether it ever comes back.
Michael Moore thinks Trump "is the last President"; He may be right, thanks to Him and His Commie Rev Ilk.

Yeah, there's a bit of a difference between midterm congressional elections, and a POTUS election.
You know that. Don't be obtuse.

No, it's so vulnerable "Red State" Democrats don't have to make a hard vote. Voting against Trump's pick would have consequences to their re-election campaigns.

Nah, Harry Reid set the rule. Remember when he hanged confirmation hearing approval from 60% to a simple majority just to get their horses in the SC?
Being a Democrat has consequences. You just hate you are getting beaten by your own rules.

They would have acted the same way. What was Clarence Thomas a payback for? Bork?

Those individuals are fricked either way.
Either they have a vote on record, which is bad but puts the issue behind them, or they have a vote upcoming, which is worse because people don’t trust any politician who just faced reelection to do the right thing.
Anyone who thinks that a Dem who gets re-elected in November will follow their constituents’ wishes instead of the party’s wishes just got a huge fricking reminder in the way of McCain in why people don’t trust politicians.

When one side doesn’t get held to account at all, it’s hard to reset back to the old rules.

And Bork was payback for Tower?
And for Bork not rolling over for the anti-Nixon forces?
The Left’s rise from academia to the streets in the 40s and 50s has perfectly correlated with the demise of reason as a guiding principle in our culture.

Weak arse payback. She’s a pussyhat wearing Bernie bot, and he has dozens of women ready willing and able to testify that he is a gentleman. This is just a delay because it’s PC to pretend that women don’t lie, but both sexes know they do.
On SCOTUS before elections.
Hope he remembers the libtard treatment he got! Thomas remembers!

Democrats have no power here.
It's the likes of Grassley, Coker, and Flake who are holding things up.
Who needs dems when we have Republicans like these guys?
