You nailed it with the penalties, especially pass interference. Most popular third down play in the pros is: Go long, throw the ball high and far, get a chicken-poop PI call for an automatic first down.

I’m not even referring to last nights game in particular. I responded to a person that says Thursday night games suck, which usually they do. Take the Saints/Falcons shite show last year as an example.

Most of the penalties last night were basic things though, like offsides, illegal procedure, holding, etc.
It looked like the 1st preseason game instead of the 1st regular season game.
I blame that on teams not playing their regulars much during pre-season games.

It had a lot of shite going against it, with the weather delay being a huge dealio.
You have a game which would of started at 8ish est, now starting in the 9pm time frame. That's late.
Is there some backlash, sure, but that delay was brutal. People on EST already complain about games starting 2 late.
