Buddy of mine owns a business in healthcare. My brothers wife is his cpa so I know that he made $40M last year. He has a house down the street from Tiger’s old house in Windermere as well as one in Dallas in Preston Wood. His car collection is amazing.

thought it was a little strange we have so many billionaires.
My co-worker thought our owner of our previous company was a billionaire. He sold the business for $300 mil. Not chump change but not close to a billion. And he didn’t own the company 100%.
Lol. I’d be skeptical, too, I’m sure. You’d know if one of them, or at least his biz. He’s in Forbes and it has his estimated net worth at 2 billion last i checked.

I played golf a few times with a guy who owns a great deal of commercial property in downtown Atlanta. He was really drunk one time and told me that everytime he starts getting close to a billion some disaster will strike. I naively assumed he meant an economic downturn following 9/11 or the banking crisis or the like. "Nah, I'll get caught with a bunch of hookers and get divorced again".
I rhink he inherited millions in N GA timber but the big office buildings are all him.

Upon short reflection four or five folks I know are in the family B net worth club.
Only one is old family money (controls a sixth generation firm) far from LA.
The others are all self-made or second generation from parents who were comfortable but not wealthy.
Most of them still self-drive, one does not.
GWagons, nice German sedans and 3/4 ton domestic pickups for rides.
One I’ve known for almost 40 years, I’m in the inner Circle of Trust.
Their wealth solves many problems but creates more than a few as well.

old her majority share to my mom and now she met some native American guy and uses him to win government contracts that don't seem to require her to actually do anything. Pretty sure it's illegal and I wouldn't be surprised to see her in prison at some point.
Not really. All Native American business only award contacts to companies with Native American ties. It’s a joke but a reality.

I never said I did.
I know members of 4 different families whose total familial assets are at least a billion.
Part of my day job is insurance-related sport.
Smart wealthy folks like to stay wealthy.
One is a Louisiana Oil related
One is in the Baltimore area and originally started in hedge funds
The others are in transportation and related ventures or in construction materials.
I’d rather not say where they are because it’d be relatively easy to figure out who they are.

Thanks for the clarification.
I’m sure someone here doesn’t know that.

My stepfather made an assload of money in the 70s as a geologist finding oil wells. He hasn’t worked since the 80s. He invested well and is extremely tight with his money. I really have no idea how much he’s worth, but I suspect it’s more than I would ever guess.
