ESPN's Paul Finebaum appeared on ‘The Matt Barrie Show’ Sunday and gave a hot take about LSU's 36-33 win at South Carolina.

According to Finebaum, the Gamecocks would have beaten LSU if ESPN College GameDay wasn't in Columbia last weekend. Per On3:
quote:

“I think South Carolina would have beaten LSU without GameDay,” said Finebaum.

Part of that may be because the home team is now 0-3 this season when College GameDay is in town. Notre Dame beat Texas A&M in College Station to open the season before Texas won over Michigan in The Big House the weekend after. LSU then came back to defeat South Carolina in this one.

Still, to Finebaum, this was more about the Gamecocks spending too much time enjoying the spotlight. That was specifically so in the case of Shane Beamer who he felt was doing too much besides planning after appearing both on The Pat McAfee Show on Friday and then College GameDay earlier in the morning before the conference game.

“I am convinced that Beamer spent way too much time, you know, grabbing shots with McAfee and Saban and Herbie and not enough time working on the game plan,” said Finebaum. “The last couple minutes of that game? Beamer was atrocious.”

Finebaum isn't retiring because he makes too much money and is getting more attention than he has ever gotten.

Paul Finebaum would be a handsome fella if he didn't look like Skeletor's gay big eared love child.

Finebaum also said “I’m all ears” looking for comments!

Finebum is out of line here. There is absolutely nothing to prove this point. His QB got hurt. That’s maybe why they lost. Can’t scheme that Pauline

This shows how little Paul really knows about football. The game plan is in. Nothing changes on Saturday. The what ifs are already prepared for and discussed. Paul just stick to interviewing Jeb from BFEgypt.

If you still planning and hour and a half before game time then you already failed.. What an idiot take by big ears

How about, we would've beaten them worse if the refs had thrown the flag on that blocked punt?

That is a ridiculous take. Beamer visiting with GameDay staff had zero implications on his ability to plan/coach that team. Beamer should be VERY offended.

As usual, Finebaum the Geek is seeking drama.
Beamer’s a good guy, decent SEC coach, and shouldn’t be ragged on for their loss. GameDay jinx? Meh.

Clearly Finebaum was bullied as a child and is now trying to make up for it by saying stupid stuff and passing it off as Gospel.

If Les wasn’t coaching the 2011 team, LSU would have beaten Alabama for the national championship.

Apparently Beamer being on 2 shows didn't bother his play calling when they were up 17-0 Just stfu Finebaum
