I'm not sure why this is 'sad'

Seems like any small sized city near an interstate. A few mom and pops and a lot if cheap fast food.

When you have to list a gas station as a restaurant because they have fried chicken, it's pretty sad.

There is not one single fine dining restaurant in G-Town. I guess Mike Anderson's is the nicest, but it's not the best. There is not a single restaurant that I would go to for a date night dinner with my wife.

You sound like a real fun guy to hang around.

ETA: I don't even know where Gonzales is by the way.

Welcome to most of America?

As someone who only knows Gonzales for its jambalaya recipe, I was surprised to see the list so long.

Also, gas stations can sometimes have really good food. Not saying the G-Town gas stations do, but you'd be surprised what you can find some places.

This is not a knock on the gas station, we actually get their chicken sometimes because it's 8 piece dark for $4.99 on Sundays.
This is a knock on Gonzales itself. It just has a poor selection of restaurants.

Someone mentioned Sno's. It's not on the list because it's not in the city limits of Gonzales.

From what I can tell, that is every place to get food inside Gonzales.

Seems about normal to me. Could you give us some lists from other comparable towns as comparison.

Estimated population is less than 11,000. That list seems pretty damn good for a town of that size, but there's no 5 star restaurants in a town of 11k in Louisiana so you're right.

What a retarded thing to bitch about. I guess someone should open a fine dining restaurant so you and your wife can go twice a year, sounds like a great way to make money.

Gotcha

When I used to stay in Gonzales for work I was told it was the only decent place to eat in the area. Bartenders/waitresses were friendly too

Yeah, they could just go to Grapevine or Houmas House for a nicer meal as neither are that far away.

Then do something super classy like overpaying a chef to come into your home and cook a meal that anyone with half a brain could make.

Not inside city limits. Same reason Kamal's right across the street isn't listed.

If anything, I'd expect Gonzales to have more restaurants and more quick service restaurants than would be normal for a city its size. All those plants pump a lot of people into the city for lunch. Plus, it's got not only I-10, but Airline going through it.

That's two pretty major thoroughfares and a huge captive lunch population.

there's a reason Gonzales and the residents there are fat as shite.

When i worked there I brought my lunch with me to work everyday because the only options nearby were fast food, or gas station fried food.
