Had lunch the last two days at La Mexicana on Hwy 30. Holy shite is this place legit and delicious. Highly recommend. Adding it to the Gonzales lunch rotation.

I mean, go to the Lutcher/Gramercy area not far from there. There's like three non-fast-food restaurants in all of East St. James Parish. This list isn't so bad.
