Not a bad time for just being back at it just a couple of months.

19:57 5K. Pretty happy with it.

I need to do a 5k time trial. According to my watch my PR is 23:07 from the Rock’n Roll 10k, would like to get close to 20:00. Problem is finding somewhere I can run flat out for 3 miles and not have to duck traffic or other runners and walkers...

I've got a 5K time trial on the horizon and have been having the same problem. Best option I've been able to come up with in GNO area is the track at Jefferson Playground during non-peak hours. I've considered the Tammany Trace, too. Levee is too windy. Audubon loop (minus fly) could work during non-peak hours. IIRC, one lap is about 1.8 miles.

Audubon Loop early morning probably a good option. Just gets so damn crowded during the day. Last weekend when I ran my 10k was probably the most crowded I’ve ever seen the park. Told my gf if I get Corona, I got it there lol.

I went on a severely low carb diet recently and have been feeling like shite on my runs. If it doesn't get better im gonna say to hell with it.
I did that last summer. It set me back like 3 weeks. I kept waiting for my body to adjust like all the crap I read said, but it didn't after like 6 weeks. Unless you are diabetic, the sooner you abandon the keto the better IMO.

Yeah I was actually doing the Carnivore thing and have decided what a stupid decision that was 5 days in. My Garmin watch was even calling me a bitch on the last 3 or so runs. Dropped my vo2max from 53 to 50 in like a week. I really dont wanna lose much weight just maybe ten lbs to get around 170. I think if I just limit my cheat meals and stop with late bullshite eating I'll be fine.

Absolutely. Between my running and my weight training, I usually go up and down 10 pounds throughout the year without changing my diet at all. I put muscle on when I'm between running training cycles then lose the excess fat when I ramp up my mileage.

8 miles at an 8:35/mile pace (169 bpm). I had a very good first six and then slowed towards the end. It is muggy and, somehow, the wind was swirling and always blew in my face (#giggity). No shin splints!
Now it's time to go drink some white cans and hit the links

Capped off a terrible week of running with a pretty decent Virtual 5k. My splits were not great, (always shoot for even splits) but it was still a pretty quick one.
In the next week or two I'm going to do a road mile and then it's off to vasectomy land, and some well deserved time off my feet to heal my whole body... and my balls. Keep on truckin.

I got back at it yesterday with a light jog/walk. Some discomfort still this morning. Not too bad. I’ll give it a few days off and see how it recovers. Still no idea what exactly is wrong.

Thanks Roots. Looks like you're getting back to business as usual.

If anyone wants a free pair of Trekz Titanium Aftershokz send me your number on one of my Strava runs, I'll text you & you can delete your comment.
They replaced mine a couple months ago and sent me some extras to give away. I have one pair left and figured this was the best place.
