I had the same issue, but with Forerunner 935. The thing would say I'd covered 1,500+ feet of vert during a 10-mile run around the LSU Lakes. (Pretty flat, for those not familiar with BR.) I re-calibrated the sensor on the altimeter and have since gotten readings that seem to me correct (i.e., zero vert in Nola).
Franco's (New Orleans) will re-open on Monday, 5/18 at 6 A.M.

Possibly in for MS Gulf Coast as well. Ran the full in December '17 and enjoyed the experience.
Big 5K time trial for me today. Would be stoked with anything sub-18:30.

Elevation is nonexistent where I live. I’ll run 6 miles and have total elevation change of 23 feet. Dead serious
You on the coast? My parents live in pass christian, and I occasionally run over there. Brutal headwinds.

I've got a 5K time trial on the horizon and have been having the same problem. Best option I've been able to come up with in GNO area is the track at Jefferson Playground during non-peak hours. I've considered the Tammany Trace, too. Levee is too windy. Audubon loop (minus fly) could work during non-peak hours. IIRC, one lap is about 1.8 miles.

Patrick, do you use a wrist or chest HRM? I recall reading somewhere that chest is more accurate, but I find them uncomfortable and would prefer to use my watch if the accuracy is about the same.

Go for it, man. A co-worker ran Berlin, and she treasured the experience. I'd do an overseas marathon in a second, if I could afford it.

Love the design of the Hyperion Tempo. Curious as to how they hold up. I'm looking to add a shoe for tempo workouts. (Currently use the Nike Air Zoom. Pegasus 36).

The program I'm on follows this basic structure, with the change Patrick mentions re: spacing between tempo and interval workouts. It's worked well for me so far, helping me regain some of the fitness I lost after a long layoff.
Unless the leader is an avid runner, I'd strongly suspect tomfoolery.
The track I use for speed work sits about a quarter mile from the Mississippi. When I head out there for a workout from April-August, I've got to mentally prepare for double punishment: first, from my perennial lack of fitness; and second, from the heat & humidity.
I've heard great things as well. I'm not sure whether I'll run the rescheduled event; I was hoping to run St. Jude in December. Now that Flying Pig is taking place in October, I think I'll have to choose between them.
Nice. I'm going to have to do one of those to salvage the spring season. I was supposed to run the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon in early May; now that that's off the table, I guess it'll be another couple months of base building.
I've followed this thread for a while, but have only recently created a TD account. I'm JR on Strava. Happy running, y'all.
