What color? Really want a pair of the pink. Like, really. Like I may order a pair today, really. Of course I don't need them either.

Curious what everyone's warm up routine is, if any. I don't feel like I do enough, as I'm always just anxious to hit the pavement, and/or strapped for time. I'd say about 2x a week I'll do some skips and/or some core/hip work pre run. About 15 mins worth. If you believe the hype I'm destined for injury.

The Olympic colorway is fire. Not sure when or if it’s set to release.

Edit: Oops, it’s the AlphaFly that has the Olympic colorway. Maybe they’ll do a Next% too.

I got a pair of pink for Christmas that I used for the Houston full. Wanted that blue/orange alternating colors but just couldn't find them in my size.

I do love my pink though. Used some rewards points on JackRabbit and got $20 off.

I'm right there with you TR. I forget to do any warmups before a run and I'm really bad about post-run stretching. I would do pre- and post-run stretches when I was part of a group, but not when I go out on my own.

Same as it’s been since high school:

Stand on one leg and stretch quad for 30 seconds, then pull further back to stretch front of calf for 30 seconds. Then do other leg.

Stretch calves by pushing against something and extending each leg for 30 seconds.

Stretch hamstrings by touching toes for 30 seconds, then stretch legs out and go left, right and center for 30 seconds each.

Then my first mile is usually my slowest mile to shake things out a bit. Sometimes I’ll stop and stretch a part of my legs if they still feel tight.

If it works for you and you’ve avoided injury, then that’s good...but...studies show there is little to no benefit to static stretching pre-exercise. Best to do dynamic stretching.

It's a two decade old habit now. The only injury I can ever recall from just running is this recent calf strain.

This is my thought as well, but certainly not one to cast doubt if it works for you.

I just run super easy for the first half mile to a mile depending on the length of the easy run. If I am doing any kind of speed work, I do a few 100m strides and a few running drills after running easy for a mile or so just to get the muscles firing. I have never found much benefit in stretching before a run. I do some quick dynamic stretches before a race, but not too much because it actually removes some of the elastic power if you stretch a lot prior to start.

This. Static stretching prior to speed work or racing can actually be detrimental to performance. You want to retain some of that elasticity to produce power.

How long did it take you to get over that calf injury? What kind of injury was it?

I pull or get a micro tear in my calves every so often, especially if I overdo it or ramp my mileage up too quickly. Started when I was 40, and usually happens once or twice each winter at some point, so has been 12 years dealing with it. To combat it, I wear calf sleeves and apply icy hot before a run. If I feel even a tweak or mild pain in the calf, I stop running and walk home. If I pull it, I usually rest 2 weeks while cross training and doing calf lifts.

I don't know what it is, but it hurts on one side and then will hurt on the other. It was a bitch stepping out of my truck for a few days. It has ever so slowly been healing up over the past 2 weeks. I was thinking about getting some compression sleeves because of this. I've been riding my bike a little the past week and start back cross-training on Monday. I don't want to start back too early, but if it feels good on Saturday or Sunday, I may put in a couple of miles. I'm in my early 40's.

I've noticed the biggest thing I lost was the rhythm of running, which I just started to develop late last year.

I'm at 139 miles back and I have not had 2 consecutive miles in a row with the same pace. In fact, I have really not been close.

It is just disjointed now but it will come back. I need to be much more smooth and consistent before I worry about being fast.

I find the compression sleeves help a lot, and warmer weather.

I went on a severely low carb diet recently and have been feeling like shite on my runs. If it doesn't get better im gonna say to hell with it.

Decided to test out the new kicks and see what the legs had.

19:57 5K. Pretty happy with it.

Started running again 2 months ago going about 3-4 time a week during lock down. I'm 6ft 180 in ok shape but trying to get chiseled at least once before i get too old.
