This is like the third time this year that I went off the rails with my training. Anyhow, I got back out on the road this morning.

It's the only way to do it when you fall off. Just get back on that train, cause it only moves forward.

8 at a 9:38/mile pace (152 bpm, zone 4.2). The wife (no pics) rode her bike by me the whole time. Mr. Feels Goodman.

Starting to get a little left shin splints, probably cause I did speed work for the first time yesterday.

3.15 at 9:18 on hills. First run in 3 weeks. Calf still a little sore. First run in Epic Reacts. They’re like butter.

3 x 400s 2 mins rest between sets

2 x 1000s 4 min rest between sets

That last 1000 meter handed me my arse

Doesn’t help it was almost 100 outside today

My new strength and conditioning program I started today only programs one long slow run or ruck march a week.

It’s based on energy system building for the conditioning part and 5-3-1 for the strength side.

We need you to be a little more specific.

It only gets harder to get back out there knowing that your fitness has been slipping away. It always feels good after the first mile or so. I felt even better this morning. Once I get a full consistent week under my belt, I'll be right back at it.

That’s just what my watch told me baw. It’s lower than the zone 5.1-5.3 I was in when I was running faster?

Finishing the month at 105.4 miles.

Actually ran at a popular park today. It was weird. Cop out front and a half shut gate with a closed sign. And yet, people were going in and out without issue.

our city decided that maybe if they stopped mowing the grass, people would stop going to the parks

well people just started the mowing the grass in the parks themselves

DISCOUNT-MAURTEN-BOGO

I know maurten gels pop up here as a topic from time to time --> thefeed.com has a 2 for 1 deal for the next day.

They are expensive but this might be an opportunity to try them or stock up half price.

Saving the city money. Something tells me that the mayor won't be in a hurry to resume park maintenance.

Thanks RS, just ordered. Now that they've come out with the caffeinated ones I see no reason to use any other gel. Slammed one on my 12 mile workout today, no stickiness or water needed.

Roots,

This was too good of a deal for me to pass up.

I use them once a week on my long weekend run so this deal will keep me straight till the end of the year.

That’s a little premature. I was going to sign up for it so I had something to look forward to this fall. I really like that race.

Cancelling races in October? Most of the big spring races moved to the fall.
