Hmmm, interesting. Maybe if the Saints weren’t in the playoffs, ha.

I'm doing this too.

This weekend was hard while cooking and watching football. It's just a habit for me to sip on something while cooking.

But I need to drop the 8 lbs I gained over the holidays.

I’m not that much of a drinker. Eating is more my problem.

I mean I can drink all the time but I also can go months without drinking. If it’s available, i’ll drink it. If it’s not, I won’t.

If cowboys and saints are in the NFC finals with y’all....

I may have to get on this strava group. I've never signed up before. It may keep me motivated to run more.

Definitely man. I signed up because of this thread and it’s helped a ton.

I don’t drink all that much anymore either. I was off Fri/Sat/Sun this weekend and maybe had 5 beers total. That’s about my week usually but I too can go a few weeks with nothing. Really just depends on what’s in my fridge. And I agree that cooking is the worst as far as craving. I don’t care if I’m just chopping onions, etc as meal prep, I feel like I have to be sipping on a beer.

I dodged the holiday lbs and maybe even dropped a couple. Work interfered with a couple parties, so that helped.

I took 2 weeks off from work and spent most of it at either my parents or my inlaws

So.Much.Food

Going to be hitting it hard this month.

My 10 mile trail race is in 2 weeks. First race I've done since last spring. Gonna be fun. Might be kinda slow though...

Also I promise I'll buy a new Garmin and join the Strava group before the summer.

I’m up to 180 after the holidays (probably 3-4 pounds of that is water weight I’m holding extra)

Hope to be down to about 165 by end of May. No more vacations or holidays coming up so I think I’ll be alright

I just officially registered. Will attempt to at least keep the 01:40 pacer in my sights.

I plan to be out there for the 5K on Saturday as well, just really torn on how I want to approach it. Definitely don't want to shoot for a PR or anything, but I'll be fighting the urge. If the weather is nice my wife will do it also. Maybe my best bet is to just take it easy and jog with her, use it as a shakeout prior to Sunday.

I'm going to be at the 5k too. Not sure how this is going to go seeing as I tried a 2 mile easy run the other day and had pain in my knee still. I've sunken below LetsRun hobbyjogger status and am happy just to be around.

I like that schedule. problem I have is fitting in the swimming and cycling with that schedule.

Today: 6miles w/progression

8:30, 8:15, 8:00, 7:30, 7:15, 7:00.

Luckily I ran with a guys who could track that with their garmins.

I can’t imagine training for a tri, but then again I’m a terrible swimmer

You should be like a gazelle now after spending all that time at altitude, right?

i was going to do a sprint tri last fall, but it conflicted with kids sports. that's always been my rule for any races i might get a wild hair about.... that my kids' growth outweighs my mid life crisis.

i think it was a 1k swim, 5k run, and 10 mile bike ride or something like that. would have been fun, but i would have hated the biking part. i can breast stroke for hours.

Well, that's too bad

Yeah, from what I understand, it takes a few weeks of consistent training at altitude to take away benefits. I can relate though, I've had a cold that is lingering. Only easy days for me until I'm back to normal
