I’m actually in the market for a new one. What’d you get?

I got super lucky and found someone selling a display model of a NordicTrack Commercial 1750. It's built like a tank so it was hell to move it around, but it feels incredibly sturdy. Plus it was super cheap because there was cosmetic damage from being a floor model, but they showed me the stats and it had like an hour runtime total.

Yeah I’d hawk FB marketplace. See a lot of good machines pop up for cheap.

Summer running isn’t for the weak. Definitely limited to early mornings or at night. Ran two nights ago and spent all last night scratching from the 47 mosquito bites..

of all places, we have a serial downvoter in this thread, it's weird

Thinking about doing my first run in awhile, hopefully things have progressed in my healing. Not running is driving me nuts, but I do like the extra time I have had.

Went on my long run Sat AM. Left the house at 630AM and it was already 77 degrees and close to 100% humidity. It rained on me just enough to make it more miserable. Ran the reverse Statue down to Pepper Place for about 1200' of climb. Brutal.

ETA: Hit the treadmill both Sun and Mon for some zone 2 easy miles: 3 & 4 respectively. Nice to run in the AC and be able to keep my HR down. Still hate it though.

Ran the Greek Fest 5k in NOLA Saturday. It was extremely hot and humid. I ran the worst 5k time I have ever run in a race. The first 5k I ran when 14 years old was faster, lol. But I am OK with it. The weather was poor and I tweaked a calf on the Tuesday before so was not sure I'd even be able to run. I was about 45 secs off where I wanted to be, but despite all that I still placed 4th in my age group in a decent sized race. I'll take it. No more races for me this summer. I will start swimming and biking more and try to keep my running light and injury free.

Think I’m going to force myself to start back up next week. Start off season conditioning with my xc kiddos Monday so really no excuse since I’ll be out at 7 anyway.

Have you been totally off since your marathon or you still doing maintenance runs?

Totally off. Not by design just no motivation. I’ve ran twice with a buddy when invited. That was just to hangout and talk though.

I think this morning in Baton Rouge may be the last below 70 run until October. It felt really nice for late May.

Man…this weather is just disgusting for running. Anyone who says they’d rather this over the cold is crazy.

I’m in SoCal and thankful to not have to deal with the humidity that y’all get.

It’s bad enough for me in summer when I hit my 6am run and it’s already 72 degrees and rapidly increasing.

Summer months I’m grateful for the treadmill in my garage (which gets minimal usage during spring and fall).

Put in 6 miles last night. 3 miles zone 2 and 3 miles tempo. It was extremely hard to stay in zone 2 with the heat. I had to walk a decent bit which I haven't had to do since I started. Staying in the tempo zone was easy!

I didn't run while on vacation at all and took an easy day the week before because my Achilles was not cooperating. Glad to see that I'm jumping back in today with this weather we have

Finally made it out to Black Creek this weekend. I hate out and back courses, but this was nice. Missed the early AM rain only to get the later AM rain.

The gravel track certainly makes the Xero huaraches easier to run in. I like trying to run in them once a month or so. Did my favorite workout from the 80/20 book: long run with speed play. 12 miles in zone 2, but sprinkle in 10 x .25 mile zone 3 fartleks. I was the only idiot out there.

When are they going to run that course out to 5 Mile Creek? The map said it went there, but it definitely ended well before there.

In the beginning of May I started going for walks and have slowly been adding some running to my walks. For the last week or so I have had more running than walking. Today I ran my first nonstop mile in many years. Its been a long road to get to this point with various health issues, so it marks a big milestone on my way to running again. In this same time frame I have dropped 15 lbs. I have a long way to go to get back to where I want to be, but its nice to see progress being made.

Anyone have any workout recommendations for Achilles tendonitis? Self-diagnosed myself but yeah, this shirt is hurting after any run, so I'm trying to do something I can manage in a gym for the next couple of weeks before I get back to regular running
