I check the trending topics on LR.com occasionally. Basically if you’re not an Olympic hopeful then you’re a hobby jogger who is unworthy over there
I only got 10.5 miles this week with the trip. Should be back in the 30s this week and no more down weeks until after race in May

Yeah LR is hilarious. I go there when I’m bored at work. Comic relief for sure. Gotta run a 2:10 Marathon at least to be worthy.
Speaking of Strava, the fella leading our group this week has some 50 miles but only has 7, 9 the last 2 weeks, respectively. That doesn’t seem all that advisable IMO, but WTF do I know. Aggressive increase much?

Based on his other posts he stays active and looks like he’s trying to an IM. No idea if they post on this thread though.
Had a fun run this afternoon. hurt myself on a 70 second 400m but got a KOM out of it.

Yeah no hate, just caught me off guard with that much mileage and a new face at the top. He can have the IM.

I would have to take two weeks off of work if I progressed like that, and I work at a desk.

What’s everyone’s take on running shirtless? Don’t think I’d ever do it in a race, but damn the sun felt good on my shoulders on the 2nd 10K today. I ask because I read somewhere that Europeans consider it disrespectful. I’ve heard trashy thrown around also, haha.
Also treated myself to music today for the first time in weeks. As mentioned in this thread, no music has helped with my foot striking, cadence and breathing I’d say. I can hear myself heel striking/overstriding as my foot hits the ground. That said, Iron Maiden’s Hallowed be Thy Name should be considered a PED. Hard to keep a slower pace to that tune.

I'm not aware of a race out there that would let a runner go shirtless. I'm sure that's for several reasons, the least being the fact that women wouldn't be allowed to. I run shirtless the moment the chill leaves the air. I dont really care to hear observers' opinion on the matter. Reduces distractions, reduces laundry, and saves my nipples.
On a side note, it's incredibly sexy seeing a fit woman running in a sports bra. My two cents.

I’ve seen several races where guys and girls pin bib to shorts and run shirtless, although I’ve never ran a race shirtless
During the hotter months, I usually start with one on but it’s off by mile 3 cause it weighs 5 pounds by then

All things equal, I would run a race that let me go shirtless 10/10 times over one that doesn't. To damn hot most months to wear a shirt, even with the creation of dry-fit.

Pretty sure there has been at least one cat shirtless in all the races I’ve done. But never enough hotties in sports bras! Brah

It’s a game time decision for me on going shirtless. If I see some other dudes rocking the skins I’ll do it but I’m not going to be the only one.

There’s a dude I know in my area who never wears a shirt. I’ve never seen him wear one while running. Doesn’t matter if it’s a race or what the temp is. He cruised by me the other day in 32 degree weather shirtless with little shorts on. His skin looked like it was on fire. He’s fast as hell too - won an area 5K last week, shirtless of course.

Easy 12 Saturday at 9:04 avg pace with a group of friends
Probably do 10 or so this weekend and then pace someone for LA half trying to break 2 for the first time

I can’t run without music. I also can’t run without a shirt. I’m always a much rather be warm than chilly person when it comes to running.

No one wants to see me shirtless.

LSUfan4444 join the strava group?
I don't think it's aggressive if you're use to it or training allows it. That's why I do a lot of leg work/plyometric jumping. For me it allows me to jump from 8 to 20. However, I do listen to my body and ease up with any pain or tweak.
Still recovering from my long run so I just swam 30 minutes today.

ditto. i joke about being fat, but i lost 70 lbs in the last 10 years. without some surgery, some of that is never going to look good. even when i was in the 150s i still had flab.
i'll go shirtless if i'm running trails away from people and it's 70-80 degrees.
on the running front.... had one last hoorah of bad eating and drinking last night. kids didn't have school today so we stayed out till midnight, which i never do.
one of my stupid rich friends smoked a brisket and wanted us to drink all his whiskey. and i mean all of it. between that and some overzealous sprinting yesterday afternoon, i'm going to take today to enjoy the fetal position. dryuary and whole 30 starts today.
